When you think about what everybody has to say about the GTR, we have to take into account that the car is over 15+ years old. Yet, modern cars are stilling using the car as a measuring point, and that in itself says something. GT-R is one of the greatest supercar killers bar none. Therefore, I have to say it is a bit unfair to still be having a conversation about a car that is over 15 plus years old still being compared to the latest and best modern car technology of our times.

The first goal I set for my R35 was to take out the P100D, the quickest EV at that time. I immediately did that. Shortly after, the Plaid came out. The stock R35 engine isnt capable of outrunning a Plaid (well maybe once or twice). That became the next goal. My GT-R spent some time running 9.7s on the street (via Draggy).. but eventually (April 2022) I bent connecting rod #6 (racing a CTS-V, of all things, from a stoplight). By then, I had already had a short block built, but wasn't sure when I would implement it. Now I am wrapping up the rest to have it back on the road by spring. New goal: beat any Plaid any time. I have complete confidence that it will be faster... what I dont have worlds of faith in, is; for how long will it?

Boost Logic and T1 are also GTR gurus. Here in Texas at least. Jotec is also a notable GTR shop… but most of these builders have moved on to more modern platforms, or have partly phased out their old tried and true builds.
My Buddy’s GTR was built by a shop in Oklahoma. Transmissions are their Achilles heel on anything more than an FBO build, though. |

I was there, next week is coming video between my m3cx and the X3M.
Few words so it is clear. The runs were uphill 1% on a non prept surface and Lots of bumps (the cars were jumping the whole time). Both cars with Winter tyres! GTR is Litchfield 4.25 (fuel injectors, Flash and no cats). The Car is more like 670-680 (No dyno yet). On pump fuel 100ron X3M has Just catless dp, unlock + custom tune e50 and xHP Stage 3. The Car was dyno tested, my friend is here as user, He can give more Info. About x3m with 800hp making 9s 1/4 Mile... Please be serious. Check Dragy leaderboard. |

Secondly it was very cold out, unprepped very bumpy airstrip on winter tires. 1% incline and a nice hop around the 1000ft mark. I was spinning into 3rd gear. 1.72 60ft average. I have run 10.41-10.43, 1.62-1.64 60ft consistently and 100-200 is 5.95-6.00 consistenly. X3m will possibly run 9's at 800WHP once the LC is cracked and can be tuned more. It is very limiting for us. The new xhp feature for override helped a bit but conditions are not good to actually test it, even when filming it was just spinning. On top end even I still pull on the GTR. car is parked now and getting bigger turbos(LM900+) and PI with second LPFP and im shooting for a 9.xx 1/4. I am full weight, not stripped out or anything but its going to be very hard to do it unless i strip out the car as well. Downpipes, E50 tune with femto unlock on MHD and filters. thats all thats done to the car at the time of filming. The GTR is litchfield stage 4.25 and usually very consistent with his times. |

GTR's yes... Not every platform needs a transmission rebuild at 700hp. Case in point, these X3M's... the ZF 8spd is handling this power fine so far. I'm not saying it'll last forever, but it's showing signs of being reliable to 700 plus hp so far.

Homie? I knew what you meant… but that isn’t what’s being discussed here. I know people with cars making waaaaaay more hp than we’re talking here that don’t have built transmissions. You’re taking out your ass “homie”.

My trans was built by Shep. Long before I bent a rod, I had already bought a second block and crank and heads. I had AMS assemble a short block and was going to finish it from there. Later decided I dont have time for this one, and sent the AMS short block to LynchMob to finish into a fully assembled long block. Once it gets back I will put the car back together. I have the new Omega 11 turbos for it. My target has been to get it 1075-1150whp.

Give any thought to more aggressive gearing? What final drive does x3m come with anyway? |

Next will do rods and pistons and then I will look at transmission/rear diff and switch from twins to single turbo. Mostly once turbos and PI is sorted out we will start playing with LC and see what we can do. My goal is getting into 9's at full weight. In the summer I will run some R888's or radials and keep testing. My main goal is to try drop it into the 4's for 100-200. I like the X3 a lot so I will keep pushing it step by step. |
