Are these colors similar or completely different?
The Audi's paint is Nardo Grey, the X3 M40i is Brooklyn Grey metallic. I've seen Nardo in the wild, but have not seen Brooklyn Grey, are they similar? From numerous pics online the Brooklyn Grey seems much nicer, perhaps because it is metallic.

The metallic may be a factor, for better or worse, depending on your preference. BG tends to pick up whatever shade it is in… can be really blue, green, or neutral depending on the light. You really should see it in person if possible before ordering to make sure you like it.

I've seen them both and I think they are very different in real life. Nardo Grey has a blue tint to me while Brooklyn Grey has a green tint. I would also say Nardo Grey has a darker shade while Brooklyn Grey has a lighter shade. But everyone experiences colors in different ways so it's best to see them in person.

Thanks for the replies guys, I can certainly see a pronounced color shift depending on the light source. I think I will go hunt down a BG X3 (as suggested) and see if I like it.

BG was a little a bit boring, so I added some graphic stripes. Otherwise, I love BG (with a Cognac interior). Ymmv, CS

BG is a really beautiful color in person. Pictures do not do it justice. I was on the fence about the color but once I saw it in person, I was very impressed. Very different from nardo grey

Totally agree! BG X3 looks like a understated sprinter to me. I didn't know how good BG looked until I saw a BG X3 30i and a BG X3 M40i in my area. But I got my Phytonic Blue already so too late to regret hahah (PB caught my eyes the moment I saw it in the dealer btw

Brooklyn Grey looks like Blue Jean Khaki you see on every Subaru Crosstrek. Audi Nardo or Porsche Chalk are much better looking. The color options for the X3 are overall very unappealing (although the X5 is laughably bad, your choices are basically black or white). Annoyingly if you want Skyscraper Grey you have to get a non Msport package 30i. Its probably between an X3 or m340i for my next car, don't need it until August though so really hoping they add another color for the 2023 MY switch over.

How about Python green, orange or yellow calipers with matching interior stitching paired with a great frozen black, blue or silver? Come on BMW there has to be someone in marketing asking for this!?!

I saw Brooklyn on a car at the dealer on Monday. It looks entirely different in person than the pictures on the Internet. It is hard to buy a color you have not seen in person.

Having been BG on a number of different BMW models in the flesh, I concluded that it works better on some models than others.
IMO the bigger the car the worse it looks. |

IMHO, the Audi's grey is way better. The BMW's looks too blue in real life, and more likely to date sooner.
