X3 M40i Week 50 Build
My Week 50 build just entered production today and was provided with a VIN!
Looks like I'll be getting my X3 by Christmas after all! Order submitted 11/4 and allocation received on 11/7. I'm located in Central PA. Who else is getting theirs this year? |

I placed my X3 m40 order on Saturday. I was told probably mid-to-late January before it would go into production. There were a few people in front of me on allocations (Boston, MA).
Now I just need to figure out what floor / cargo space mats I want to go with. |

Congrats! That timeline sounds about right if there are other people in front of you. When I ordered mine there was no one ahead of me.

Congrats! Similar situation, I ordered 11/7 and got a production number the same day. Talked to a Genius on the 11th and was told I'm a week 50 build which he said is Dec 12-18. 'My Vehicle' tracker still shows scheduled for production as of today so I called again and was told I'm 'scheduled for daily dispatch' and still week 50, but she gave a date range of Dec 4-10 this time. Thought it was interesting to be given two different date ranges for Week 50, but I'm still hoping for an end of year delivery regardless. I'm in Central MD, so not far from you and not far from Spartanburg. |

Yeah I learned that these build dates can literally change on a daily basis. With mine, I was first told Week 50 then a couple days it was Week 2 and the next day it went back to Week 50 and stayed there for a few days before going to Production Begins and receiving my VIN. If you stay at Scheduled for Production for a few days then you should be locked in for what they're telling you. Can be any day until you get your VIN! |

If they can't provide a production number, then that means they don't have an allocation for you. You've been stuck on a waitlist since July. I would start contacting other dealers and ask if they have an available allocation.

I got lucky, when I decided I wanted an X3 I called the dealer and was told, that car just arrived. But I also have another model ordered, now for 5 weeks, and no allocation.

You need to find a dealer that has an allocation with an upcoming production date... otherwise, your basically guessing on getting a car one day.

I was told it’s in special release status but I’m not sure what that means. I’ve asked for a production order a few times now so I’m assuming they don’t have one yet.
I tried another back in July and they said I’d be #5 on their waitlist. I found a dealer that said I’m number one in line. |

Like others have said, try calling another dealer and ask about allocation wait times. No reason you had to wait since July for an allocation.

I ordered alpine white with shadowline, HK, heated seats and HUD. I’d imagine alpine white has to be one of the most popular colors. Maybe one of these items is constrained?
I’m going to call the dealership tomorrow. |

If you were you, I wouldn't even call them first. Try call neighboring dealers. Then once you get some answers on wait times, then call the original dealer and ask them what's going on.

Does anyone know what build week allocations were just released this week? I just got word from my dealer today that my allocation came available, almost 2 months to the day since I had my order entered.
Dealer advised they will provide a production number and build week, but of course I cannot wait for their info and I'm trying to better estimate timing on my side. Also plan on doing PCD, so I'm thinking February-ish trip to Spartanburg? Thanks! |

My dealer happened to have a modifiable allocation available and I placed the order last week. Dealer says the vehicle is slotted for production next week and should deliver by the end of the month. Just got a hold of the VIN today as well. Hopefully I got lucky with the ordering process.
