X3M/X4M Weight Reduction

What are you doing for weight reduction if any? Of course yanking seats are an option and this is an SUV so expected to be heavier, but things that don't make it look like shit such as missing seats or panels - hidden gems I guess

List the things removed, weight saved, and how it looks removed. Examples, wheels, carbon fiber strut brace, spare tire, exhaust, carbon fiber roof (proposed one) etc.

I'm going to start with spare tire later today and will post.

hey bro, that's a great topic. Weight saving has always been expensive . Removing seats and panels was not an option for me. This is what I did to save weight:

1) Ordered without the heavy sunroof
2) Removed the spare wheel
3) Put Vossen forged wheels on
4) Installed carbon strut brace (no idea about weight saving here)
5) Titanium Akra muffler
6) Titanium Akra midpipe

Your biggest saving will be from wheels, spare tire, and no moon roof.

Everything else will be negligible... ie exhaust is maybe 15 lbs? Strut tower of 5 lbs, etc. other then that no point if you are looking for speed.

Full F97 Akra Evo system saved me 43 lbs. Forged wheels saved me 30 lbs.

I saw that. Titanium is the boss for weight savings. But puts a dent in the wallet.

Similar idea but mine has the sunroof. Maybe you can do CCB would save 50-60lbs plus the wheel tire and bolts can save probably another 40-60 but expensive

That’s an expensive 43 lbs

But when you save 20lbs a wheel with a new set up that cost outweighs the exhaust one IMO

Well, I didn’t buy Akra and forged wheels just to save weight
it’s 20 lbs per set, not per wheel

This. Don't bother beyond the basics. Or just don't bother at all. It's an M SUV, not an E36 track car.

Please understand that nobody buys an Akrapovic exhaust solely for the weight saving purpose. It sounds amazing, it also looks amazing, and it adds performance. And it saves a ton of weight. And no... we absolutely will bother modding our M SUVs beyond “basics”. I can’t believe we are having this conversation again. If you just wanted to buy a simple utility vehicle, why even choosing a BMW M Comp car in the first place?

Agree to the statement.
I think the weight saving is more of the good side effect.
Best way to save weight would be to put only 1 gallon or gas, or no gas at all.
16 gallons of gas weigh as much as 100LBS.
Yet, you are not wasting money.
About $45 for Californian. $50 will be to fix the road, that's what they promised. Lol.
