BMW Apps & Pandora
I have a 2016 F25 28i with the ZTP Technology Package including 6AK Online and BMW Apps.
If I plug my iPhone into the USB port, start both Pandora and BMW Connected on the iPhone itself, I can achieve full control of Pandora, including changing stations, using the vehicle display and console Nav controls. HOWEVER, there are two major no go issues doing this. It is not safe while driving plugging the phone in and then holding it to get the two apps started (of course I could do this before driving but I don't always know I am going to use Pandora - it is also a pain in the ass to do this, especially for short drives). Second, the Pandora interface will only appear in the larger left half of the display. This is unacceptable because the Nav controls only appear in the left half of the display, not the right half, and I frequently use the Nav map display. So, now my questions: Does Apple Car Play, apparently available in 2018 models, allow full control of Pandora using the wireless Bluetooth interface and not have a requirement to do anything on the iPhone itself? Can my 2016 X3 be upgraded, reasonably, to Apple Car Play? |

Your are correct and I have done that but only with minimal control of Pandora from the car controls/display. The whole point here is I do not want to have to use the iPhone itself while driving to change Pandora stations, start Pandora, etc.
