BMW is a German company, and they screw you equally as the rest of us? Apart from US who seem to get REALLY great delivery times :-/
Granted those guys have theirs made in the US, but it still sucks ... Nine months for me. |

Well my status changed to 182 and they expect delivery any day now!!! They've also received a few others these last few days. A lucky guy was picking up his M40i while I was there.

Just this: "BMW AG does not provide a public tracking system for US-spec vehicles. The last update I received was on 25 January (status 165), means your BMW has arrived at the port in Charleston and went on a ship. The next update I receive from BMW will confirm the arrival of your vehicle at the port Bremerhaven, which I expect to receive towards the end of February".

They've gone dark again! I paid for the car yesterday and got my insurance so I can register it as soon as it arrives. Hopefully it arrives today and I can pick it up on Monday... wishful thinking on my part!

Ordered 12-28-21; Got VIN on 2-4-22
Note: picture is not my car (thank you to the owner), but the closest I could find. Mine has red calipers and Cognac leather, and will get H&R coilovers and spacers.
MY '22 X3M40i SPEC: TZN blue Cognac vernasca Shadowline package Parking Asst Package Premium Package Remote start 21" 726i wheels w/ throw-away RFT NO spare M Sport diff Trailer Hitch Red Calipers Rear window shades Carbon Fiber trim Driver recorder Discounts: -750 Loyalty -1000 Finance with BMW (1.9%) changed, added, subtracted from order several times. Don't recommend. caused no delays, but could have. Plus, drove my very nice sales advisor crazy Ordering Dealer: Santa Fe BMW (Susan Grab, CA) Dates: Ordered 12-28-21 Assigned build week 7 Got production number 1-18-22 Last change made 1-31-22 In production, got VIN 2-4-22 Cancelled factory delivery (US) due to Covid concerns As far as I can see, I am getting everything that I ordered. Was never offered HK. Trailer hitch came later. Shadowline never an issue. Tried hard to get NON RFT's on 21's, BMW didn't even consider. Don't know yet if ordering TZN Blue will delay order, but it's worth the wait. With a fully loaded M40i, I came close in cost to a base X3M! No regrets, but something to consider. As soon as I get the car PPF'd and Ceramic glazed, I will post a full compendium of photos. After break-in, I will fill the car with skis, and take a run over the "High Road to Taos." Will report. Again, thanks for the help. Thanks to many of you for the online help. There are a lot of decisions to make when ordering, plus all the interaction with like-minded BMW nuts makes the wait a little easier! I am happy to return the favor; any questions about my spec or the process, please feel free to ask online or thru private email. In particular, I thoroughly studied wheels/tires. I think that BMW needs to get rid of RFT's altogether, but until they do, there are solutions. |
