Anyone else rattling?
I've got this annoying rattle that I hear on certain bumps from somewhere near my left shoulder. I can't seem to tap, hold, or vibrated anything to recreate while I'm not driving. Anyone else had this and found a solution?

Sunroof rattles especially when it is cool and dry. If it is raining, has rained recently, or is humid then I rarely hear a rattle. Dry and cold sounds like the panoramic roof is in danger of falling off. I can minimize it to some extent my lubricating the rubber seals around the pano roof but it is only a temporary fix and need to be re-applied periodically. The more fool proof method is to turn up the music.

Headliner-panoroof rattle here. The only thing I don’t love about the car. It actually drives me nuts. It’s just a quiet tick-tick-tick, but I can hear it through music, through acceleration, through everything. My wife thinks I’m crazy...

Something to do with the seat belt mechanism inside the pillar? I was going to say maybe it's the buckle (mine regularly hits of the pillar) but then realised you're a LHD car.

Yes, my cup holder rattles when I have bottles in it. Drives me crazy, even with the music turned up.
I have a few warranty issues being sorted in April including this one. |

I can hear a very quiet rattle when driving on uneven roads. Seems to come from inside the rear door on the driver side. My best guess is, that it is perhaps some wiring (e.g. audio cables) that may move and hit against metal on the inside of the door behind the interior panels.
I just try to ignore it, as there is always something making noises: the zipper on my wife's handback that may rattle, the child seat that may shift a bit, something in the trunk or in the storage bins, etc To be honest, it may only be audible because I opted for the accoustic glass, which deletes close to every noise from outside, making every sound on the inside seem so much loader.

My rear, right speaker rattles on certain songs......well, it's likely the speaker is faulty to begin with...lol.

Headliner / Panoramic roof rattle is a notorious and well-known issue on Audi Q5's in Europe.
Some dealers will oil / grease for free, others have resorted to charging as a routine service issue. In extreme cases (with me), they have removed then replaced the Pano roof entirely - a five hour job at £100 an hour - about $650 in US money...or, if you are very lucky, some have had them repaired under warranty.

That's likely coming from the "aural throttle sound" that gets fed into the cabin. You can disable that. There are numerous threads on it. The M40i has it. The 30i does not. I think you can just remove a fuse and it disengages it. Unless - you already have then it's likely a system ground that has shorted and whines as you accelerate. That would kill me.. I'd dealer warranty it.

Panoramic roof rattle. It’s a problem with nearly all pano roofs. My Audi did the same thing. It’s not a BMW thing. Problem is they need to be installed very precisely, and that level of precision just does not happen 8/10 times on a mass produced vehicle. On my Audi it actually took it being sent to the body shop and having the entire pano frame replaced till it was resolved. Not going through that again so I just ignore it.

I know it's been a while, but did you ever get it solved? I have the same issue with my cup holders in 2020 x30i (10k miles)

Regarding the cupholder rattle, I had this happening and it turned out to be the USB power cable which winds its way around and is attached to the lower end of the cupholder panel. It had a really noisy clamp interface as well as had wriggled out of one of its tabs. The material of the cupholder plastic and the kinda-sticky material of the cable together are a riot of sticky-ticky noises. Bits of felt and some re-routing and it's dead-quiet now. (will edit and add a couple vids if possible).
Prying the upper center console up was straightforward, wriggling the three little plugs out from their sockets on the underside was a bit tricky given the limited space (drive-modes, e-brake, and iDrive controller each have a plug... the blue iDrive one was tedious). The cupholder unit itself is held in by a few star-head screws, and just needs to be lifted out far enough to work with the usb cable underneath.

My cupholders and sunroof don't rattle, but I actually did just notice something the other day on my 2022. When driving at highway speed, especially 80 mph +, the passenger seat vibrates / shakes. Its enough that the zipper on my coat that I hang on the back of the seat, or the zippers on a bag I place on the seat itself noticeably rattle. When there's a passenger weighing the seat down more it's not a problem, and the driver seat doesn't do it either. It's not super apparent, but now I just can't un-notice it!

My sunroof rattles. I took it in back in July and they dampened it, but didn't competely get rid of it. It's now back and louder than before. Just dropped it off today for the plug-in battery recalled and asked them to look at it. Hoping it comes back quieter. To be fair, this happened with my last non-BMW car as well and they were never able to completely fix it, unfortunately.
