Yes...if you are local, Alex actually reads your DME data and builds your tune off of that and then does a few logs from street pulls to make sure it runs well. Also, you can do this entirely remotely and I believe you can log your car with a JB4 pass through and send him that info for finer tuning as well. Obviously, this is all predicated on how much time he has and I know he is slammed and backed up with flashes currently. So, yes, he can build a custom tune for you, if that's what you prefer. The stage 1 tune is very linear and smooth and, for 95% of people, the initial build is perfect but there are some, like me, who are on heavier 4WD vehicles who may way want something a little less linear and punchier down low for everyday driving since I'm not racing this brute...I am working with him on this currently.

Can you expand on this? I also have a M40i and got their tune, and I quite like it so far, but if there’s more power to be had, I am curious

If you are on Stage 1 then there is no more power to be had...I am only trying to tweak the power "delivery" on my car. I prefer the stock torque punch (overboost) on kick down that has been lost due to the new linearity of the power curve. Don't get me wrong...the tune is definitely more powerful but I'm assuming the curve may be more aggressive stock lower in the rev range to accommodate the heavy car and 4WD. I have no real data to back this up but it is what I am experiencing.

J/K...this is only wishful thinking but I suspect low to mid 12's even would be damn impressive, I mean that's near X5M territory.

Any update on the Stage 1 & 2 Mission tunes? Still like them? Still smooth?

I'm probably in the 11s now because of the ECU/TCU tune and DP.

How’s the exhaust smell after you catted the DP? I haven’t had a cat removed in eons.

It's tolerable. It's not like a 69 Nova with strait pipes.

Considering this tune. Any long term updates for the x3 m40i stage 1? Has anyone run into any snags with dealers flagging the vehicle having been flashed?

I’m Stage 2.5 / Stage 1 and have had 0 problems. Performed air filter (stock) change and spark plug change at 20k.

I have been running the tune for 16,xxx miles now.

Thanks. No snags at the dealer yet? Or are they tune friendly?

Are there any other long term Mission ECU tunes out there with any feedback?
