What mods you running?
What gas?
new plugs?
mileage?

With that level of corrections, the culprit is almost always gas quality. You got 2 engine knocks, again..gas quality. Everything else seems good.

It is most likely your gas. Try finding a shell or chevron as I have always had better logs with their gas, especially ones with a lot of traffic. Run that tank all the way down and test again.

Anything other than high quality gas is just one of them inevitable handicaps we have to suffer with...until you run ethanol 😎

^^^ What he said. It's 99.69% your fuel.

I can confidently say that BM3 OTS maps for our cars are nearly perfected at this point in time.

You have a 100% stock car. Nothing to look at to change or issues in your mod list. Only thing is gas. Change a station and retry.

AND as of right now dont floor it with your 2 knock sensors going off.

You could add a little bit of E85, I aim for 1.7-2 Gal - If the timing corrections go away it's 100% gas as the others have said.

Hi Guy's, I am trying to understand this platform a bit better (coming from Mark 7 GTI platform).

A few questions:

Why do we have multiple Ignition timing degrees 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc... is that each individual cylinder? I am used to only having one timing line overall.

Do our cars generate false knock. It was very common in the Mark 7 GTI world to have that. It could even be something unrelated causing the knock.

If the degrees are for each cylinder why do some timing gets corrected at much later point after the knock?

Was traction control on or off? Can this contribute to the knock?

Overall I think the log looks pretty good.

Will ya look at that! All cleaned up! Your m40i appreciates you again.

Time to go stage 2 and get a TU pump and catless or catted downpipe.

My only concern going flex fuel is right now I have to add ethanol to clean up the timing. If I go flex fuel, when I add ethanol will it not see the ethanol and bump up the tune? Negating the safety margin I知 getting from ethanol now? In other words I知 worried about running into timing corrections with a more aggressive tune. Not sure if that makes sense

Not too much to worry about .

My stock tune has corrections all over up to 8 degrees when WOT. The car has been driving like this for 4 years until I realized that when I got BM3. And it didn稚 break anything as I can tell.

For me the nonACN maps from BM3 seem hard to satisfy with 93 pump gases. I want to run stage 2 93 but I am in California and only accessible to crappy 91( effectively less than 89, who knows). And guess what ? Now I run a full tank of crappy pump 91 with 3.5 gallons of E85 and my stage 2 runs are almost cleanest. And I get the promised horsepower and 0-60 time just like any other B58 through numerous road tests.

The reason I don稚 run E30 or E50 too often is their gas mileage are noticeably worse when cruising around town than my effectively E23 on 93 map

The flex fuel tune will adjust to the ethanol content sensor and tune accordingly. I'm not sure how bm3 flex tunes work but I can say that on MHD, I get little to no corrections across all cylinders at wot. And that is ranging from e30-e70. The only time I get corrections again is when I cylce a full tank of 93 but depending on the fuel quality, it was still minimal at -1-2 degrees at most across only 2-3 cylinders.

The more ethanol you run, the more timing you gain but does not necessarily mean you are gaining more power.

To those running >E10 mix, how long after fill up typically are you draining the gas tank? In other words, are you filling up ~once a week? Wondering how long you are letting >E10 mix remain in the tank.

Appreciate all the help!
Any BM3 flex fuel users wanna chime in? Any issues with corrections on a stage 2+ multi map tune?
