There's a dude in Colorado who does custom carbon fiber parts: google nelson racing wheel

He's making me a custom interior with hex carbon fiber. You might be able to get in touch with him to make something custom. My car could even be used for fitment

Just thinking out of the box here.

At highway speeds, I had problems with steering wander on my 2014 X3 28i. It seemed like the front end was being blown around by crosswinds. Having to constantly correct the steering was tiring and annoying. As a cheap solution, I tried adding airtabs (vortex generators) to the leading edge of the undertray. The theory is that these devices somehow reduce the pressure under front end, to create a down force. The improvement was much better than I expected. The car is now much more steady at highway speed!

Not sure why the OP is messing with trying to make their X3 track worthy if they really have a Cayenne Turbo S and 911, why wouldn't they just take their Porsche's to the track instead? Sounds kinda fishy to me... just sayin

I do take them to the track, both have spent considerable time at Sebring.

As stated previously, my goal is to make this car competitive and do things it's not meant to do. I have cars that already go fast and I find it fun in making my X3 go fast.

X3 is my project car. Up next is the 911.

Competitive against what other vehicles? Do people really track their SUVs often?

I imagine the x3 gets allot of air underneath it at speed. Some type of front air dam and splitter to add some down force and reduce the amount of air to the undercarriage should help at speed.

I've tracked mine 3 times at Sebring and taken it to the local drags. Most times there are some fellow SUVs there. At Sebring I've given lowered F30s a run for their money. It's fun and a good challenge, the whole point of my build.

Since I've lowered it, it does feel a bit more stable at higher speed just because less air can get under it. I think I may try out those vortex generators if I can find a way to make them look good. Currently working on a custom aluminum lip and trying for a functional rear diffuser. The rear diffuser has proven to be quite difficult because I'm trying to incorporate the exhaust, make it look good, and have it actually function.
