Hpfp low pressure error code at idle

Also posted in the X3M /X4M FB group.

To recap:
Been struggling with some weird fueling codes at idle. No issues under load but at idle the rail pressure oscillates and then drops below the ECU parameters and throws a drivetrain error. Clear DTCs resolves the issue, even without restarting the car.
Catless DP, E50 custom tune, ~7K miles.

Flashed back to stock and filled with 93, issue remains as seen here.
Obviously could be hpfp, but again, there are no issues under load.
Seems like it could be a sensor. Could an exhaust leak or other airflow issue cause an issue at idle but not under load?

These cars have two fuel pumps in parallel and it's possible one is not working properly.

Agreed. Just curious if anyone else has run into any hardware issues with the pumps. My understanding is it's two B58TU pumps and those are reasonably high flow pumps. I'm shocked that I have 7K miles on the vehicle and would be running into issues with them on a moderate E50 tune.

The issue isn't tune related because when I flash back to stock and put 93 in it the issue is actually worse.

How do you know if your moderate tune wasn't the cause of it?

I've never seen that code but everyone I know is on BM3 platform and custom tune for over 10k miles.

Not saying it was 100% your tune, but over 50 ppl i know in whatsapp X3M/X4M chat with the same platform means it's either isolated issue to your modifications.

We run from E30 to Full E85 daily btw.

I can't be certain that the tune didn't cause it, it's definitely possible. But whatever the cause, the issue remains after flashing back to stock and putting premium in. So some system or component is involved, beyond the tune.

Update: BMW dealership testing condemned both HPFPs. Still working through the warranty claim, adviser thinks that they will cover it. We'll see what happens.

Update:
BMW denied the warranty claim due to tune. Quoted me $3400 to replace both pumps. I laughed out loud in person. They came back later and offered to provide one of the pumps at no cost.
I sourced both the pumps myself for $1100 shipped and had them in in less than 25 minutes, mostly to pull the trim, air box and strut bar.
Resolved the issue.
I'm pretty sure both pumps weren't bad but for the price just did both. Nuke it and forget it.
