PDC still not working after taking it to dealer?

Few days ago I had a PDC malfunction and took it to the dealer to have it fix. The sensor is working while i out the car on reverse but when I’m driving while squeezing through double parked cars the blind spot sensors never kick in even though I’m super close to it. Anyone experiencing the same problem? Thanks

Isn’t the car suppose to beep with a sound if I’m too close to an obstacle? I was driving my car in the city yesterday and someone was double parking on a one way I try to squeeze it past the car but nothing picked up even when I’m so close to the car going 2-3 mph

Depends on how close you were to the other cars. Put your car in neutral on level ground and put the parking brake on. Leave drivers door open and car running and Walk around your car to the sensors and see if the warnings go off. If I unload groceries with the trunk open my movement sets off the rear sensors. That’ll tell you if the system is open. I’m not sure but I’d check your PDC I drive settings as well if there are any

For the auto PDC detection in the front, you have to be very close to an object directly in-front to trigger and warn you. Otherwise just have to manually press the PDC button.

The side detection doesn't normally automatically trigger for me, though only time it comes up is during parking manuvers and I've already have the PDC/surround view open.

What about for the side? I notice my front one is working but not the left or right side of the car on the front side

I think the feature I’m looking for is only there if you pay the optional driving assistance pro package which I didn’t get

Check your settings menu for PDC. I believe if you have 360 View with front and rear PDC you should have the setting for Active PDC where it will turn on by itself when detecting obstacles in front at low speeds. Check your settings first.

That one is turned on and I do have the 360 view but it doesn’t pop up. It only pops up if the obstacle is in the front of the car but not for the right or left side of the front

Well the obstacle generally needs to be in front of the vehicle to be able to detect it. Works great pulling into the garage. Pull up very close to something in front of your car and it should come on.

The only time I've gotten a side warning, PDC and 360 cameras were already on. I was pulling into my garage and probably 4" from a towel hanging while drying out. It gave a "possible collision" warning, not just beeps.

But I believe the other replies to be correct. In general PDC will only auto-activate when approaching a front obstacle. If you have the full driving assistance package it may give a side collision warning and attempt to pull the car away. My 2018 M550i could do that, and did once when a truck passed me way too close.

Even when I drive into my garage going 5mph, the beeping comes on, it should be pretty sensitive

Front only or side as well? Mine only pops up when there are obstacle on the front bit the side. For the sides I need to manually press the button for them.

I'm 99% sure the sides, because I get really close to the opening and it's starts well before I am in all the way
