Winter Tire and iDrive setting
Looking to buy a set of winter wheel/tire package from tirerack with their mobile installer option.
This is the first time since a long time that I have dedicated winter tires after years of non-M xDrive w/ All Seasons. Is there anything I need to do in terms of iDrive setting after the swap? Thanks in advance. |

If they have TPMS installed you just need to pair the car to the new set when they are on. "reset TPMS" in the menu. Make sure the other tires are 25ft or more away when doing it. IE go out and drive somewhere then reset.

Yes, I ordered TPMS from Tirerack (honestly, I don't know enough to know if there are different standards and whether the ones from Tirerack would be compatible. I am taking a leap that they would).
Thanks for the tips on TPMS reset, that's new to me. Much appreciated. |

You also need to set the tire spec in the same screen.
I don't know what ID7 looks like but in ID6 you can set the type to winter tire and confirm the sizes. This sets the suggested psi values for the tires and warning alert thresholds. |

I have a set of winters, and when I switched out the summers, the iDrive setting displayed automatically on my center screen. As previously stated, it will ask you to set the tire spec (winter/summer, 20"/21" if I remember correctly).
