M mode and M1/2 button question

This might sound really silly but I just need an answer. I really like the M mode heads up display and this is my question. If I press the m mode button while M1/2 button is on will the car go into M1/2 configuration or the M mode configuration? Thanks!!

The answer is in the thread you made last week, #13

If you have an LCI, then you cannot program the HUD with M1 & M2. Which MY do you have?

No my question was if I press the M mode while have M1 lock in. Would the configuration of the chassis be on the M1 setting or the M mode setting? This is my first bmw still very new to the system. Thanks

If you are in M1 and press M mode, it just changes the display to my knowledge and you stay in m1 unless you hold it down then it goes to TRACK, I'll go test at lunch.

From my knowledge, M Mode just changes the display. Has nothing to do with the engine/suspension/chassis/transmission settings.

Also changes settings on the driving assistance (land departure warning, etc to reduced or off in some cases) and active cruise control, lane keep assistant to unavailable. Track mode turns everything off (display and driving assistance features)

Forgot about those. I actually use driving assistance a lot in my area, so hardly have M-Mode enabled. I do wish the LCI had the ability to program it to M1/M2 like the prior years. My eyes are taken off the road looking for the M-Mode button every time I want to engage in a spirited drive session...
