BMW X3 M (F97) Production Styling and Digital Dash Revealed!
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW X3 M (F97) Production Styling and Digital Dash Revealed! Look what we've spied - the gauge cluster and iDrive screen for the X3 M revealing the final production design! The hotly anticipated X3 M looks as good as we hoped and predicted in our renderings. The F97 X3 M and F98 X4 M will not only be the first full-blown X3 and X4 M models, but they will debut the S58 (S58B30T0) turbo 6-cylinder engine which will also power the upcoming G80 M3 and G82 M4. If the latest G80 M3/M4 rumors are correct, the S58 will make approximately 474 HP and at least 480 LB-FT. The X3 M will begin production this year as a MY2020 vehicle (U.S.). And according to resident future-looking BMW info guru, ynguldyn, the Competition models of the X3M/X4M will be available, possibly right from the start of production.

Not bad from the front. Doesn't look like we get the all important fender flares though. X3M40i and G8x M xDrive is looking like the right setup for me in 2 years but will have to drive all of these including X3M.

Where's the wide fender flares? This looks like a regular X3 M Sport.

Still not AMOLED or microLED. Just old fashioned backlit greyish looking LCD. These are going to look really out dated once they start using a modern screen.

This gets brought up all the time but fender flares were never part of the plan. We saw many similar comments with the spyshots/debut of the F90 M5. It should be noted that traditionally, only the M3-esque-derived siblings/cousins received widened front and rear fenders (i.e., 1M, M2, M3, M4) vs. their Series brethren (and even then, there was one notable exception, the E36). The M5, M6, X5 M, etc. generally do not get the same widened treatment as the smaller Ms. Sometimes, exceptions happen; the front fenders of the E60 M5, for example, were ever so slightly wider than the E60 5er, but the difference in width was barely noticeable, so I wouldn't exactly call them fender flares. That being said, it's quite unrealistic to expect an M5 or X3 M, in this case, to have widened fender flares.

I hope this digital dash goes through out the entire M lineup. This will be perfect.

Go bigger, F95 and M8. My F83 with ZCP and catless less DP's sounds like a lawn mower compared to the V8 S63 grawl.
PS I meet the former X3M/X4M lead M engineer, as he was my trainer at the Ring for 2 days last October 2018, prior to his retirement he was also responsible for the 1st two X5M/X6M generations. Great gentlemen with lots of insight.

Disappointed to see the old style cluster being used.

I'll reserve judgment until I see a real world example. The differences in appearance between this and X3 ///M40i (save for the front bumper/mirrors) is not as much as I initially anticipated.

Ahh this truly is sad! I've been holding out on this thing for a while now and I am thoroughly under impressed with this, but I suppose seeing the last 5 years of BMW design, I should have expected to be disappointed...
Looks like I'm finally making that long awaited trip to the Porsche dealer for a Macan Turbo!
