Why is this $40 on eBay and $79 everywhere else?
https://www.ebay.com/i/233289600490?...UaArzKEALw_wcB

Is it because it is a "knockoff"?

I used a VEEPEAK OBDCheck BLE adapter to try to disable the drivers side seatbelt reminder yesterday in my 2019 G01 M40i. Bimmercode indicated that I needed a “ unicarscan or OBDLink” adapter to access the advanced crash safety module or the Body Domain Controller. Am I using the correct adapter? All the other ECU are accessed OK.

The MX+ certainly works for the BDC. Did that yesterday, it’s very slow to read it all. Quite large output I guess.

It looks just like the one sitting in front of me that I bought from Amazon for much more than $40.00. They were on sale for awhile for I think $50.00 around Christmas?

You are not using the correct adapter. The Veepak adapter is not the same thing as the UniCarScan or OBDLink adapters. This page discusses the various adapters and shows you which ones can fully code the 2019 M40i: https://bimmercode.app/adapters/

If you are using an iOS device, get an ENET cable and a lightning ethernet adapter. Users here reported that coding is much faster using ENET than Bluetooth dongles. You can code anything you want with an ENET cable.

Drive mode to sport

and then in the digital dashboard this appear that I haven't seen before
can someone please tell me what it is and how I can change it? Before I used to have total miles and miles in the trip

Just cycle through the functions with the BC button on the indicator stalk, same as before.

Quick update on the walk away lock.

I'm close to getting this to work but it might be a hardware issue (e.g our cars don't have the required lock module /sensors). I see the option in iDrive now, but it won't let me check the boxes. Hmm. Would love to get this going, it was a great feature on my Mazda.

That is one of the options of the trip computer. press the button on the end of the indicator stalk (think shows as BC). On my UK RHD it is the left stalk and top button to scroll through consumption/mileage etc etc

Thanks for the effort and the post, shame it wasn't a simple coding thing. Given we have comfort access, there must already be a proximity sensor, but if it's constantly scanning for a key, that must have impacts on the battery?

I recently downloaded an update to my OBDLink MX+ to firmware v. 5.0 and a new version of BimmerCode to v. 2.1.0-5354, but there's not much if any explanation about what's different. Has anybody found any new coding options?

Separately, I'd love to see more Expert coding options for BimmerCode. There are a few posted here, but if you have any more, please share!

I'm thinking it's probably similar to my attempts to get the OEM Remote Start working. The newer cars (X5, G20 3-series, Z4, etc) use BDC_Body3, while the G01, G11, and G30 use the BDC_Body2. That was the only difference I could find in the case of Remote Start, there were no specific parts for Option 1CR, meaning it was most likely that newer BDC plus the coding. EDIT: For added reference, the new LCI 7-Series got the BDC_Body3 as well, and that can now be ordered with Remote start as well.

In my case with coding the remote start options, it was the same thing. I ended up with the new checkbox in the menu, but it wouldn't let me select it.

It tells you in post #16 in that thread how to do it, just use expert mode in Bimmercode and follow his instructions.
