Forgive me if this has been answered but thread search is very poor...
I have a propensity to open the liftgate accidentally when the remote is in my pocket or I'm laying on the couch at home, etc. Is there a way to disable the liftgate button on the remote....or even increase the delay??? I recall reading that others had this issue as well a while back. I have Bimmercode and successfully coded some items on the simple guided setup a few months ago. But have not used advanced before. Thanks! |

One question. Is there a way to code parking brake to be automatically engage when I put the car in "P" , without using the Auto_hold?
It is so stupid that Auto parking brake is linked with Auto-Hold. Auto-Hold is just so bad when I sit in traffic.

But, what do you have against Auto Hold? Does it kick in too soon in slow, creeping traffic or something?

In addition to the coding I reported earlier in this thread (April 20), subject to great risk of hubris, I decided to try a little do-it-yourself Expert coding. More specifically, I wanted to add or substitute German into the very limited list of available languages for US cars in My Vehicle, iDrive, Languages. It didn’t take me long in Headunit, Expert, 3007, to add list German to the iDrive menu, but chosing deutsch wouldn’t save and didn’t do anything anyway. So, searching around, I found Instrument Cluster module, Expert, 3007 PIA_KI_SPRACHE and activtate deutsch.
I’m sure what I did is incomplete in one or more ways, but it does give me German menus in iDrive and German navigation instructions. It even understands my German voice commands (although I will have to learn and remember the specific German names of the various iDrive commands. What it doesn’t do (yet?) is give me a German owner’s manual or a choice of voice input in English, in case my German falls short. I would be grateful for any suggestions on further steps to improve what I’ve done so far. Of course, even a partial cheat sheet for BimmeCode Expert mode would be of great value.

I been reading this since I got my M40i 4 weeks ago. Finally got my coding done on the weekend. Here is what I done:
1). Change start up to M startup animation 2). Default Drive mode = Sport Individuel 3). Enable vehicle in motion, Video via USB, and Additional Video codec 4). ADS Off (Kind of redundant, because I already installed the ADS hassnes first week I got the car) 5). Rear Camera disable distant change from 10M to 30M. Speed at 30KM 6). Enabled Convenience closing with remote 7). Set Rain-Light senor from Sensitive to insensitive 8). Changed auto light position from A & O to A only. 9). Disabled Startup warning message and rear camera warning message 10). Set remote tailgate button from Open and Close 11). Set HU_NBT2 - 3005 Display PIP Info - DIM_VARIANT to OLD for address iDisplay dimming issue Wish I can code: 1). Instead of change the DIM_Variant to Old model, wish have way to resolve display dimming issue for good, included cluster and HVAC control. 2). Auto parking brake, without using the Auto-H. 3). Set tailgate open from remote that require pressing the key on remote for 5 sec. 4). One touch turn signal from 3 to 5. 5). Rear view camera turn on what parking assist is being use, without putting car in R. 6). Turn down the volumne of PDC sound. It is way too loud.

I just ordered OBDLink MX+. Does the app guide you through simple coding? Such as backing up (and how to back up), and how to get the vehicle into coding mode? I assume only the values you drill into are changed if you change a setting and all others are already at factory default?

You'd need to find a decent BMW retrofitter, I know a great one in the UK but it looks like that won't be much help to you. |
