Does anybody have the "real" Order Guide and Price Guide yet? I'm not a fan of the Press release version -much too condensed - Guides are more precise etc

neilr: Thanks for the spot about leather - I missed that. Perhaps then there will not be an Exec Package - and the "a la carte" menu is in place - since the HK audio system would have been part of an Exec Package. I sent an email to the two authors of the press release questioning the Exec Package - early this morning (NY time). I have not heard back

Looks like still with the Harmon Kardon stereo and no mention of enhancements or better upgrades.

Too bad how the doors and handles were overlooked. They mentioned in the press release interior is from the 4 series and looks like some things were missed.

What is everyone's thoughts on the vented seats option? Will the seats be again different on those with this option or without? Just asking as this seemed to have been quite a disappointing surprise for those in the previous generation adding this option only to have bolsters disappear.

Yay to remote start, can't believe this is an option. Only in the German car world could nickeling and diming exist still.

The mention of thinner headlights does that mean it's the laser headlights like the 3 series? Or, is is LED technology but just slimmer design?

And, spare tire. Is it still the same BS raised floor and loss of storage? Most likely yes.

That's all, folks :-)

Has anybody seen the ordering guide yet? Are the ventilated seats available for sensatec now that it comes perforated?

This doesn't match what I see in the current US configurator. I see the Exec Pkg including the Premium and Parking Assistance package contents, plus gesture control and ambient lighting. HK is a separate option, though it does require that either Premium or Exec packages be added.

FWIW, I talked to the build guy at my dealership (who talked to "his guy") and was told that HK can't be spec'd on a built X3. This was a few hours before the reveal and I notice the HK is clearly listed amongst the options. I don't know what that means, taken together.

Although, I believe the intro of the 48V mild hybrid means you lose the ability to turn off ASS (Auto Start Stop) via a button.
You cant turn off ASS? Even with coding?

No acoustical glass sucks. Even economy brands such as Toyota and Honda have acoustical glass. C'mon BMW, quit pinching pennies and follow your engineers, not your accountants.

When the Dynamic Handling Package was offered in the past, what other packages/options were a prerequisite?

I like going to the German configurator, because I can see what the X3 looks like in white and other colors.

If I'm looking at it correctly, it looks like both the German and UK configurators show acoustical glass.

That's nothing new. They always have more and better options than us in the USA.

No surprise. They're salespeople. They'll never decline a sale.

Have you seen the configurator for the US? My friend at the dealership said the X3 and X4 ordering guides are not currently available.

Btw it is possible to order the acoustic glass as a part and install it. Someone posted the part numbers in this forum. But it will end up way more than the $150 that was the original option until MY2020. Especially with dealer labor.

No, but if acoustical glass were offered in the USA, it would be listed either as a standard feature or as an option in that press release. Just like they did years ago (model year 2020), as an $150 option for the USA. None of that was mentioned in yesterday's press release. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it to come to the USA for 2022.

Now that I look at the 2021 that is still live on the site, they don't have it as an option or list it as standard either. Was this something that was only available on the 2020 models? I'm new to the brand as the 2022 M40i is going to be my first purchase. Just trying to understand the progression (or regression) of options.

Yes, it disappeared from the 2021 models. It was there on the MY 2020 configurator 1 year ago for $150.

Yes, that's what is weird. For a couple years acoustical glass was a legitimate $150 option in the USA, and then during the past year they omitted it for the USA. However during the past year acoustical glass was still being offered in Europe and other parts of the world. Yup, the rest of the world enjoys a lot of special options while the USA gets shafted.
