So no laser headlights option for the US versions? Both the UK and Germany have them on their websites but they are missing from the US press release.

Wait for the 2022 XC60. It’s getting a minor facelift with Android based infotainment system. Too bad it’s getting fake exhaust tips now though.

The press release for the US said:

The lineup includes rear-wheel drive X3 sDrive30i, all-wheel drive X3 xDrive30i and X4 xDrive30i models and M all-wheel drive X3 M40i and X4 M40i models.

MSRP for the X3 sDrive30i is $43,700. It is $45,700 for the X3 xDrive30i and $57,800 for the X3 M40i. MSRP for the X4 xDrive30i is $51,800 and $62,400 for the X4 M40i. Destination of $995 is in addition to all MSRP pricing.
That definitely reads like the 30e is gone. Full text here:

So June 16 came and went. Where are all the guys claiming BMW would release the order guides on June 16?

Still waiting with the rest of you. I can admit when I was wrong. My dealer friend had information from the regional product trainer and he indicated that yesterday was the day for the order guides. Order guides for many other 2022 models have been released. Just not the X3 and X4.

Yep, my info came from an “Executive Customer Communications Manager” for BMW North America. Can’t help that she was wrong. I’m just as disappointed as you are.

Interesting. I'm an Apple guy though and the fact it's Android based is almost a turnoff... do you know if CarPlay is at least still an option? We had abandoned Volvo for our next car, as our current 2018 XC60 lease left much to be desired, but given we can't spec an X3 to our liking based on supply chain issues, if the XC60 is getting a refresh, maybe we'll reconsider.

The android system is superior to their old OS and still supports carplay. Built in Google Assistant and Maps are also included, but most importantly it uses a much faster processor than the previous and painfully slow system.

I had read that the 1st release of the new system (last year for the XC40 Recharge) didn't support CarPlay, Remote Start, or their app in general. If that's been fixed up, that certainly makes the XC60 interesting again.

All along I had been debating a XC60 vs X3 and leaning towards the X3 for the better ride, better infotainment, and just a more fun overall car - while the XC60 w/ T6 & Inscription clearly had a nicer interior.

I also looked closely at the Q5, but one of the reasons I was waiting on the LCI was improved safety features (including camera based distracted driving detection) which the Q5 still doesn't have. Frankly, if they Q5 had this feature I'd probably be buying one this month based on how long it is taking to get info about the LCI.

I would have never ever considered a Volvo until now. Our plans were clear, get a X3 30e in silver. A lot of our driving is 10 miles and below with occasional long road trips, so a plug-in hybrid makes the most sense. The model is gone and the paint we have had on 6 previous cars and we love will also discontinued for MY 2022. We will of course still consider the X3, but our lease ends in October and we will have to make a decision soon. For both cars, it would be model year 2022.

CarPlay is supported. The Sensus system in my current XC90 is just ok. Very laggy and not user friendly. To get to the 360 camera I have to swipe all the way to the right. Gets tedious but also becomes a habit. When I unlock the doors it doesn’t start prepping the infotainment system. So when I start the engine, it takes forever to load climate screen, cameras, etc. Very frustrating.

The new Android system was initially released on their Polestar cars. The electric cars, not their performance software upgrades/trims. This new system has a dedicated static icon for the cameras now.

Also, the new Volvos might look like it has a exceptional interior, it does. But it’s mostly looks. The material does feel good to the touch but the quality is not up to BMW’s standards. It gets scratched and scuffed up really easily. The exterior paint is top notch though.

YMMV, but this is from a relatively high volume dealer.
Just an FYI… I got a call back from another dealer in the NY Metro area today, and they said they were going to reach back out in July when they expect ordering to open and to have more info.

This was a dealer I had submitted a web inquiry with a while back, and clearly had kept me on the list of "Potential 2022 X3 customers". Interested to see what happens within the next month (ie, early July).

She got back to me yesterday. I'll continue to post any updates...but I definitely think we won't see the configurator till July. The main X3 page was updated recently to promote that movie, and BMW is still pushing the incentives for 2021's through the end of June. Hopefully I am wrong!

She just wrote back to me. Said the same thing (of course). She must cut and paste. But I'm sure this goes further up the pole and is out of her hands.

It's too hot here and my brain has melted. Is the Tanzanite Blue $1500 on top of the base $550 metallic price, for a total of $2050? What an odd way to list it… :-)
