Thanks, you are correct, saw them on the UK configurator, and yikes. Score another win for pre-LCI, I definitely prefer the 698M 19's.

(2 )"Smoother stop start" - who cares! 99% of us turn it off as soon as we start the car. 100% of us would completely eliminate it if possible. More likely than not contributes to unnecessary wear and tear of many components of our vehicles. Not being able to turn it off would eliminate me as future owner of this vehicle;
(3)"Hugh shock" of maintenance costs of current model - bottom line, hybrid models will cost more in maintenance at some point than the current models;
(4) "BMW knows a thing or two about making sure it's reliable" - reliability is not questioned, the "mild hybrid" is probably as reliable as the non hybrid model. However, with more complicated systems and batteries it is incontrovertible that future maintenance costs will be higher than the current model. This "mild hybrid" system would eliminate me as a future owner of this vehicle.
The "mild hybrid" changeover makes no practical sense. And I am not even addressing the environmental damage created by the manufacturing and disposal of the batteries.
1) Seems to make enough of a difference for various manufacturers to be going out of their way to add these systems.
2) No, 99% (if that) of the forum members on here turn it off. I imagine forum members make up less than 1% of X3 owners worldwide. I suspect the vast majority of them get into their cars and drive off without worrying about switching off stop start.
3) Bottom line is all modern cars are going to be expensive to maintain. Modern cars are complex and the days of cheap repairs or being to service your own vehicle are sadly over.
4) Sounds like you've boxed yourself into a corner as every new car is going to have one of these complex new systems with higher future maintenance costs.

You say they make no practical sense but I'm sure those who live in busy cities where the air pollution levels are sky high would beg to differ.

not a fan of the X4 LCI update. the headlights are a welcome addition, but it just looks like they tore up the bumpers several different ways that are just incongruent with the lines of the car. feels forced. The original G02 was quite refined and well thought through.

Anyone else notice changes to the nose design on UK configurator ?

Look at the black section below the kidney grill. Images a day or so apart....

Not sure if you are aware but when the car in front of you starts moving it automatically turns back on, so it's ready for when you press the pedal. I honestly forgot it's doing in on the commute.

Abs if you do want to turn it off, you just knock the rear selector into S and boom.

Definitely like the top one (newer?) better. Much less of the grinning clown look. It'll be interesting to find out why they have two different images.

I also prefer the top image design, but it's been replaced with the "smiling" image...

Based on information from my friend at my local dealer, it looks like dealers in the states get the ordering guides tomorrow and the website will be updated in July. Orders will be able to be processed beginning tomorrow though.

Agreed! Only thing I can think is that ordering opens for dealers tomorrow so they can get orders for their lots, and they're trying to hold customer custom orders until after that.

As it is, I have 2 local dealers that know I am very interested in the new X3, will be very interesting if any of them reach out tomorrow!

Well only a few more hours until we know for sure. I hope my info is wrong. I really want to play around with the configurator and the X3 M40i. Either way I should at minimum get access to the order guide and be able to place my order. Just hoping I can get some visualization online.
