I do agree with you comment about the service department. BMW should really be addressing the concern and not dismissing it as 'in your head'. Find another service dept.
Agreed. I worry about the electrical components that could get thrown off with a foreign substance running through the engine. Also the potential warranty trouble if the car throws a code and a tech (somehow) traces it back to the Seafoam. It seems like dealers are more and more trigger happy to deny warranty claims these days.

Yup very possible.

The OP bought a brand new car with a brand new car warranty. They should not be tolling the fuel additive section of the auto parts store as if it was a 10 year old vehicle to DIY a solution that the service department should be on the hook for.

Fixed! Maybe... I added a “Techron” fuel additive injector cleaner to a tank. It’s supposed to be for new or old engines. After the 200 mile trip, it’s now much smoother at idle and while cruising. I also got 21.5 mpg including some in town messing around.

My car was also sitting for a year. Don't have any issues besides idle shakes the car in very cold weather after immediate startup. Going to try this too. It's mostly hot where I am so never notice it.

So, I took my X3M to a different dealership for the state inspection and to look for the cause of the vibration my car has had since new.

They found a broken exhaust bracket, right under the drivers floorboard. It was causing an exhaust system rattle that was transferring to the car and steering wheel!

They have to order a replacement part but with it removed, the car is 90% better. Even the ride is improved as I was probably feeling and hearing the exhaust system flex over every bump.

Wow!
