Asking for advice. I want to sell my X3MC with a Bootmod3 tune

I honestly didn't think the day would come. But between family and business, this beast just sits in the garage most of the time and literally collects dust and I'm not able to enjoy it to full potential. I like the car.

Here's my question. I'm running Bootmod3 Stage 2 and I have high-flow cats installed. Naturally I would like to flash it back to stock for the next owner. But the o2 sensors have been removed with the high-flow cats, and I'm afraid it will have a check engine light.

I'm still not sure it will be a private party sale or a dealer trade-in.

I guess with a private party sale I can explain everything, but the dealership might be another story. Or maybe I'm overthinking all this.

Any advice on how to move forward?
I still have the stock cats if needed.

Put everything back to stock, not only to maximize value, but also to respect the car and its next owner.

fastest way to get rid of it is to put back to stock and sell it back to the dealer

sell the dpipes and tune someone will buy them

Even if the vehicle has been returned to OEM condition, the new owner deserves to know about all previous mods. It's just another "right thing" to do.

Spoken as a fellow '20 X3MC owner flashed with BM3, honestly, I think you should capitalize on the fact that you have a '20 model that is already OBD-unlocked and flashed with the most desirable tuning platform on the market. This is a selling point, not necessarily a stigma, to the right buyer.

Who knows if the new DME or even '20 models that have had ISTEP upgrades done will EVER be able to be unlocked. I've seen several posts where people are looking to get out of their '21 models and buy a '20 that can be unlocked and flashed. What if the '20 X3M/X4M are the only S58 models EVER to be unlocked?

Market it as such and I think you can capitalize on this situation.

Agreed or the new owner has a car potentially tagged for mods and no warranty...

Both private or dealer, have you checked into selling as is? I did when I sold my RS3 for this X3MC and the dealer took my FBO RS3 with all parts on and gave me a good price: could've made more selling the parts but saved the trouble of swapping.
