https://shoptarox.com/products/toyot...r-brake-rotors These “fit” the 2019 GR Supra They are 348 mm front and 345 mm rear Is anyone here able to say with an element of certainty that they will or will not fit the G01/G02 M40 platform? |

What are the quality concerns? I've used their products and they were fine.

He thought they’d be fine on a lower end/lower hp vehicle but wasn’t keen on them for my fairly tricked out X4 He’s been 💯 with his guidance thus far… |

I can also vouch for this, a friend ordered Dynamic Friction rotors and pads from Rock Auto and I was very impressed with their braking performance and pedal feel. I believe they are the same company as R1 Concepts as they share the same business address.

I orded the two piece Zimmerman ones...have been great. Just watch out - it is easy to mistakenly buy single piece rotors. I can get the P/Ns if you want em for the two piecers to make sure.

Wait, what are the pros/cons? Are the one piece rotors even able to be used on the M40? PNs would be awesome!

I would just go genuine discs. You wont get better quality. Grooves can cause vibration/noise issues sometimes.

Two piece rotors are lighter, and ar OE on our cars. Zimmerman is a BMW OE supplier, so I trust their rotors. Have installed them as my replacements on two BMWs now with never an issue.
See if that link works...shown p/ns for 1 piece, 1 piece drilled and two piece. I have the two piece..put on 5k miles ago and they are great. Also note that the Zimmerman rotors come coated, so the aluminum top hat and areas without pad contact stay nice (no rust/corrosion). OE rotors don't have this. FCP and trodo had them when I bought. Just search by PN since they are so new they may not show up if you search by car. https://web.tecalliance.net/otto-zimmermann/en/parts/cars/assigned?assemblyGroupId=100626&targetId=132498&ty peNumber=132498&page=0#@brc/brands:Car;targetType:cars/assem:BMW%2520X3%2520(G01%252C%2520F97)%2520xDrive %2520M40%2520i;targetType:cars;targetId:132498;typ eNumber:132498/lnkpartsisc%2520Brake;targetType:cars;assemblyGr oupId:100626;targetId:132498;typeNumber:132498;pag e:0

Why not just the the OE rotors? they are good quality are only a few dollars more than aftermarket... you can get a front set for like $300-350 i believe which is very reasonable. Only reason I see to go aftermarket is if you are looking for an upgrade - but the stock rotors are just fine on these cars unless you are making more power than stock.
I paid about $300 for front rotor set for my 3 series so to me, this price for m40i rotors is good and not sure why you would try to save $25-50 bucks on something that is going to last many years and miles. Its literally pennies on the dollar over time, so not sure why people look to cheap out on brakes on a 50-70k car? IMO get the OE rotors and have zero concerns with quality or fitment. Skip Friday pizza night one week and theres the difference in some off-brand no name rotor vs OE. But if considering "aftermarket" only brands I'd run are Centric or Zimmerman as they are OEM suppliers, make reputable well known rotors, and they make many rotors for other companies that just rebrand and mark them up in price.

Purely unneeded swap. My X4 is still shy of break in mileage at 6 months old…life on an island I’m changing out the discs because I want drilled, slotted or combo rotors. No other reason. Money isn’t a factor but a full Brembo kit at $5K just seems a tad overboard I’m in hot pursuit of Zimmermans right now Reached out to multiple vendors last night and now following up this morning (05:17 here) Thanks to all of the above replies and pms :~} ps ~ my car makes quite a bit more hp than stock |

Are you in agreement with the above…that one piece rotors (Tarox) are a dealbreaker? For weight issues (that’d kill it for me) or other reasons as well? |

https://web.tecalliance.net/otto-zim...0911;groups:82 For the rear rotors, BMW part number is 34208853554 and I couldn't find cross-references on Zimmermann or ATE catalog. Their catalog doesn't have the latest BMW part number yet. But dimension-wise, GR Supra rear rotors should fit on M40i. M40i rear rotor: https://web.tecalliance.net/otto-zim...eNumber:146539 GR Supra rear rotor: https://web.tecalliance.net/otto-zim...eNumber:135932 The major difference between these 2 is that the M40i rear rotor is a 2-piece rotor while the GR Supra's is a single piece rotor. |

See the comparison between the M40i and GR Supra rear rotors above. The 2-piece M40i rear rotor weighs in at 8.4kg while the single-piece GR Supra rotor weighs in at 9kg. TBH, I think the OEM rotors are just fine unless you are tracking your car.
