I had the update done on my 2017 X3 28i, it wiped what little I had done, lifetime FSC and CarPlay. It did cause Navigation to go into a boot loop, fortunately the patch I received for the FSC codes still worked and that solved the map problem. The update also allowed the patch to take my partial screen CarPlay to full screen. I'll take that little nicety all day.

I just got mine back (same car). Note: they said they needed to keep it overnight..and I've read this on other forums. This update can brick the car and they want to keep it overnight so that if they screw up, they have time to fix it.

FYI, on my paperwork, it said they tried it 4-5 times before it worked.

It also wiped out my Carplay and all other settings. I asked about it and they went as far to say that my car "isn't capable of carplay". The good thing is that their software update didn't wipe out the firmware update that was done to enable the firmware base needed to allow Carplay. The original work was done by easybimmercoding but via the old remote process. I didn't have the FSC code from that so, it did cost me just a little to get the code to do it myself this time. All good now.

Be warned....

It did wipe out all my Bimmercode coding as if I had never done it. Not a big deal for that. Ten minutes to change it all again.

I think I'm going to take our X3 in. We have about a month left in CPO and if they find anything, they can take of it.

I got recalls for 2013 528i and my 2017 X3.
If it was running too lean and they are reprogramming to run a bit richer, does that mean it's going to use more fuel thus making the mpg worse?
Well, if the CO is fully combusted to CO2 you will get more energy and save catalyst life.
So I'm suggesting mph might actually improve a bit.

I can see that. With blizzaks on, I'm ranging ~21-23 lately when before the flash I was getting ~19-21. Hwy driving seems pretty much the same but the city number isn't so dismal.

Since I am having issues with anti-trap on one of my windows, I went into ISTA to try to standardize the window- while there I checked the battery and it said it was last exchanged at 0km. Is it possible that this update erased my battery registration? I never verified my indy mechanic registered my recent replacement but it was done right before the recall.

Issue after ECU recall done

Hi
I had the ECU recall done on my 2013 x3 about 2 weeks ago. Since then, I have been noticing a little light color almost transparent smoke coming out of the car exhaust for 1 minute or two after I park the car and shutoff the engine. It has no smell so I am thinking it is likely water vapor as the car runs normal Otherwise and there are no errors. Odd that it started happening after the recall software update?

Did anyone else experience this issue?

Picked up a 2014 X3 28i and planning to go in for the recall. Anyone experience negative things about it or just better MPG improvement? Planning to do Bimmercode but looks like it's better to wait after the flash is done.
