OFF topic as we already got as most valid replies for the thread starter. 😆.
Dont hate me for switching gears. Get it? For those with the turbo upgrades as you call it Stage 3. What are your perfomance numbers? 0-60 1/4mile 60-130. We have a Dragy thread but this ones currently active. 👋

Question on the topic of tunes - if I’m going stage 1 OTS, would I need to change plugs? I’ve heard mixed answers saying yes for any tune, or only stage 2 and above

Don't think I'd tune within warranty... but that's just me... I think the M40i for what it is... is relatively fast. Once it's out of warranty, I could see a stg1 tune.
Also, 83% of cars on an enthusiast forum being stock probably translates to less than .5% in the real world being tuned lol.... but this is an X3 so it makes sense.

Hard to tell if it's more warranty related or the X3 is just not popular with the tuner crowd.
From some quick googling (e.g site:bimmerpost.com inurloll) this question isn't very common. The majority of tune polls I saw don't have a "no tune" option, so it's impossible to compare. This is the closest I found: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/s4-...t-why-2811813/ |

I also wouldn’t be surprised if most of us x3 owners have a second weekend “fun” car while the x3 is the daily driver. |

I wouldn't mind putting a stg 1 tune on it, like I have all my other vehicles, but then I remember it is already plenty powerful, and I don't want to deal with all the issues that often come along with tuning like spark plug issues, blown coils, etc. All the German cars I have tuned ended up with oil in the plug wells, and then I promptly dumped the car. I am hoping to hold onto this X3 for longer than I usually do in order to let the electric market sort out a bit, and the general market to get back to normal. I also just really like it, it's the perfect vehicle for me.

I embraced the opportunity to fully customize my vehicle within the first year of ownership. While being under warranty may have been a consideration for some, I was eager to make the most of my car by adding my own personal touch. My only regret is that it was limited to a single turbo upgrade, but I am still thrilled with the modifications I was able to make.

Stage 2 mhd. stage 3 xhp. Currently hiding all e85 stations away from her...she wants it...
I can't ever go back to stock now. I've doomed myself the second I pressed flash.
