I use a citrus based cleaner, spray on and wash off within a few mins. I only use BMW’s screen wash. Flies/bugs are a pain in the arse!

and is there some magic to this? You're saying £38 is good but is that the same on Amazon for £27?
That’s a great price. I had trouble getting the rear on Amazon a few weeks ago, so looked elsewhere. Looks like front and rear (right now) would be about £37, so cheaper than I paid.

How hard would it be to retrofit install rear heated seats if my G01 did not come with them from factory?

Can dynamic cruise control SET multiple programmed speeds? Say I'm driving along at speed limit and am approaching a roundabout or turn. Rather than slowing down by pressing the brake and deactivating cruise control, I want to press SET to change to 10 mph to turn or into the roundabout, then press SET to resume the speed limit. Is this possible?

1, Not easy from what I understand. Uk member recently decided not to try based on additional parts and other factors.

2, No. ACC either follows the map data road speed or speed signs, or you manually adjust using the wheel control, but there’s no “preset”.

Driving Assistant Prof is very good imo. Drove 323 miles yesterday, and 90% including traffic jams, was DAP.

1. Do you know if there's an easy way to remove the rear bench seat to save space and weight or is it bolted into the car?

2. Well, SETx basically is a preset to go back up to speed limit. But there's no other SET0 button that just sets to the lowest speed (20 km)?

The rear bench seat bottom can be lifted right up. If you’re trying to save weight I’d look elsewhere as it weighs practically nothing.

But I couldn't find a switch to release the seat bottom, only just to fold the seats down. The seat bottoms seems like it is attached to the felt floor of the car. I'm trying to save space and add some large boxes in the car

Also, I just realized for 2023 builds, you can add just Active Cruise Control as an option ($550) instead of Driver Assist Professional package ($1700) if you didn't want Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Centering, and the various other add ons (see attachment)

@bocabimmer Did someone here mentioned it’s possible to code the digital speed read out or the speed limit to be red when I am speeding, or make some sort of audible sound when the speed limit changes? Does anyone know how to turn the number red on the gauge cluster too? I don’t have HUD.

The ACC only option uses a shorter range front radar and has no front side radar. The camera is also different.

Does anyone know how to code out the Welcome (Driver Profile Select) and Goodbye (Notifications/Ventilation) screens on iDrive 7 and show the last used screen or home screen? I only know how to code out the various warnings and chimes.

Where is the latch to release the bottom of the rear bench seat to take the rear seats out of the car for extra space?

I hope one day to rid my car of those two screens, my life would be complete!

They serve no purpose except having to waste my energy clicking a few OK and Back button to get back to where I left off lol

avi66 Do you know what's the part number for the short range front radar sensor and DSC unit with ACC support for 5DF (USA)? Does it I can't seem to find the parts numbers on Bimmercat or Vin decoder for B46D X3: https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/selectKit/G01/60906

There is no latch. Just pull it up and out. It’s held in by tabs.

Is this the future? it's very interesting and I like the concept of hydrogen, better than the current EV setup.....still in development and a few years away before we see it in production.

What are hose two parking light buttons on the dash to the right of the dimness dial?

Also, does the 30i msport have fog lights?

Sorry, just had to contribute to the dumb but important questions thread.

Those are the "roadside parking lights". Designed to be turned on while parked/pulled over on the side of the road to give other drivers more visibility that you are there.

Yes. It likely saves more power just having one of the parking lights hence why they are separate buttons

When you install a downpipe and get a CEL, is the car still drivable?

Having the mechanic install a downpipe soon. I’ll be picking it up at end of their day and presumably drive home where I can then deploy bootmod3 stage 2 which will avoid the cel. I don’t understand if it simply just turns off the light or does some extra work to trick the vehicle into thinking it’s not an issue?

Posted this as part of an update in the wind noise thread, but it's worth a question all its own., I think. I had the Driving Assistant engaged and it took me to a complete stop in heavy traffic. For the 1st time ever I saw a notice pop up that "Assist Plus" was available. I swear I've never seen that before. I asked the service manager about that and he said it may have been a new feature rolled out in the last OTA update, in my case that would be November. Seems to "up" the automation a bit. Worked very well.

Has anyone else seen that before / after the Nov OTA update?
