I thought that 213 was the Active Sound Management fuse?

I own a 2021 X4MC and a 2022 X4MC. I hope that fuse does disable ASD because it is noticeably louder in the 2022. Borderline startling and annoying even in the short time I have spent in the 2022. I pulled fuse 203 in the 2021 and the exhaust sounds so much better now.

If it’s just a fuse I’m surprised someone has not come up with something like the below. Replace the fuse with the fuse in the kit, ground it and a blue wire is the antenna. I may buy one and see if I can retrofit. FYI this is meant for Corvettes but the method it accomplishes is the same

you need to pull the fuse when the flaps are in the position you want them to stay in. That would mean sport+ and cold start for maximum noise.

It is not like an on/off switch like say in the Focus RS.

I have something like this from Dahler and it works brilliantly. I offered my gen1 to someone a while ago but they didn't seem interested. My box allows for control of the flaps from stock to completely open. Remember, the flaps are not simply open/closed, there are variations to their positions. People typically want simple and/or easy over doing it right, a proper controller is doing it right.

I have pulled the fuse 203 on my LCI, during cold start, and the passenger side opens fully on cold start, but the driver side only opens 1/4, is this normal?

When I blip the throttle, the driver side closes, then opens 1/4 again at idle.

I have disabled the Active sound through Bimmer Code, Must admit sounds much better, even with one partially open.

Has anyone else noticed this or have a method of getting both flaps fully open?

Kies has a great vid on this on explaining what the valves are doing and what he's using. (Sorry if this was posted before)

I know Jb4 has an option on m340i, not sure on f97/8 but figure they do have this as well.

I read that the ASD fuse is different or does not work on the 2021 models, so checking if the exhaust flaps are the same.
I just pulled fuse 218 from my 2021 and it deactivated ASD.

Kind of a late answer and revival of a thread, but only 203 to open valves works. Removing 209 or 215 for ASD doesn’t work. 209 gave me a rear diff lock error and 215 prevented me from using the iDrive buttons. Looks like only option is BimmerCode for those with Android devices (iOS users don’t have this ability yet) or eSys.

Can confirm a few things after doing this mod.
1. If you leave it in efficient mode and do this it leaves it closed. (Don't do that for noise)
2. In Sport+ and doing the same thing makes efficient mode just as loud
3. After it has been done, efficient mode will be loud, but will not have any of the burbles of Sport or Sport+.
4. Switching to any of the different modes does not make any noise (obviously)
5. Burbles must be tuned in to the different modes? There is a YouTube video of a guy that has Bimmercode on his M2C and you can turn off the burbles. Never knew that was something you could do.

Was thinking of getting a Vgate iCar Pro OBD2 unit and buying and installing Bimmerlink app on my iPhone. Will this not work to keep the exhaust valves open? My car is a '16 F10 550i

F97 platform forum FYI,

For yours it should work fine, Carly or Bimmercode/link should have the valve open option for F10.

So I pulled the exhaust valve fuse 203 on my 22 X3MC while they were open and looked to see if they were still open and they were closed. Can someone shed some light or did I miss something.

I sent them an email as they don’t list f97 as compatible, still waiting to hear back.

you need to do this in Sport+ on a cold start (well, in the case of a '19 model)

they don't list compatibility with the G8x but it's been a success on that platform. PNP no issues. i don't see how the F9x would be any different.

that being said I don't want to wait a month to order one.

I've been trying to find a used one but with no success. by the time I do find one I'm sure it'd be a month anyways but oh well.
