Engine oil level too high on a 2016 30d
Hi,
Apologies if this has been covered however I couldn't find a definitive answer. I have a 2016 BMW X4 30d which has covered just over 32,000 miles. I was scrolling through the idrive menu when I accessed the vehicle status menu and noticed the oil level check displayed the message "Engine oil level too high" (see picture attached). I then parked the car on a flat surface and then left it overnight and checked the oil level using the dipstick at the back of the engine. It looks like it is just over the max level (see picture attached). I've had this error message before a few years back and the vehicle was under warranty and when the dealer checked it out, they suggested it had something to do with the software but they fixed it. The car is due to be serviced in just over 4000 miles and the last service was in July 2019 - always serviced by a main dealer. I only drive the car to work and back which is around 6 miles each way. What are your thoughts? |
