Tire suggestions for BMW X3

My BMW X3's 245/50 R19 Run Flat OEM tires got 29k miles and almost worn out. Not happy with these OEM tires' performance and want to try something new.

Can I use the 101v tires for X3 instead of 105H?
Because the Michelin PRIMACY MXM4 ZP 245/50RF19 101V has a much better review than the OEM Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport AS RFT 245/50R19 105H.
I m not sure that the load index reduced to 101 could be a potential risk.

Can anyone help me with this?

I believe there are charts online that tell you what 101v and 105h are rated to be able to carry. Look up the weights and see if 101v is enough to carry the weight of the car and people and whatever else you usually have in the car.

Just a note, I personally would get the best tires you can, because they're the only part of the car that's touching the road and without good tires, the biggest carbon ceramic brakes or the best driving aids won't be able to do anything.

Can't believe my 2019 BMW X3 Pirelli Centura tires need to be changed at only 21,000 miles. Extremely disappointed. I'm looking at the other OEM recommendation (Bridgestone Dueler) but I have my doubts. Any thoughts from the community?

I went with these Michelin's. I have had them on my 2020 AWD Ford Fusion and my mom has them on her xdrive 4 series. IMO all around very very good tire for our Michigan weather. The Fusion got 58,800 miles out of them (rotated every 5,000 miles). The 4 series still has them on since she doesn't drive too many miles a year. You will most likely loose some MPG but the performance out weighs that IMO. I just ordered 4 of these tires for my 22 X3 M40i and they are being installed by the dealer next week.

The second picture is the ratings from Tire Rack. OEM Bridgestone's is on the left and the Michelin's are on the right.

Hope this helps. Everyone will have their opinion.......This is just my .02!

My wife has Bridgestone Driveguard RFT on her Mercedes. They are 19 inch. They are quiet and don’t ride like a RFT.

I'm replacing my 43,000 mile stock factory originals with a set of Bridgestone Weather Peak tires. (Non-Run flat).

I'm fine carrying a can of tire sealer and a small 12v air pump in the trunk, so I see no need for run flats. I suppose IF I ever decide to take a long cross country trip with my X3, I could have my tire "guy" toss a spare tire in the rear for some piece of mind while on the trip.

Keep in mind that the only thing R/F's are designed to do is to keep a deflated tire ON THE WHEEL. It's all about the extra strong "tire bead" on R/F tires so you can limp along until it can be replaced or possibly be repaired.

I think that is underselling the RFT function and benefit. The reinforcement goes beyond the bead to the sidewall to do more than just keep the tire on the wheel but to also provide support to allow continued if cautious driving versus a conventional flat that flops around on the wheel when driven. This allows one to travel a moderate distance to exit a highway or to get home from a possibly undesireable location to be stuck in or try to fix/change a tire out in the open.

30k miles is not a bad run.

Given your Seattle location, I'd take your pick of the UHP all seasons. DWS06, Pilot Sport AS4, etc.

I agree with your point and your advice, but I'd be reluctant to make recommendations to OP because it's hard to imagine many tires going beyond 30K!
