Brake piston came out...
I was doing the rear brakes on my 2014 X3 Drive i35 and while I turned the T45 piston screw on the rear of the piston in the wrong direction (counter-clockwise) which pushed the caliper piston out of the bore. The brake dust boot did not come off, but some brake fluid did come out as I manipulated the piston back into the bore my turning the screw into it and then returned the piston completely back into the bore and compressed it back into the retracted position. Can someone tell me if the piston is all the way in, do I need to pull the boot away a little bit to allow any brake fluid trapped between the bore seal and the boot seal to escape? I also assume that I will need to bleed the brakes as well. Also will monitor the caliper for additional brake fluid leaks. Anything else I need to be aware of?
