Same. I just wish BMW was more proactive about updating and enhancing ours. For needing to pay them a subscription fee for car play...

Nope, you are definitely not alone. Experiencing both, I personally very much prefer the 2019 ID6 version.
I think I like the hybrid look of the current...it seems modern and sportier

First things first, THANK YOU for the invaluable resource you've proven to be for this community.

Second - What is the logic in place to maintain at least 2 maybe 3 or 4 now versions of the B58 motor? Why wouldn't that have made its way into the G05, given it's the one that would most benefit from the small hp/tq bump we're seeing on the B58D?

Seems really out of bounds as respects economies of scale, and the new chief's BMW internal memo posted to this BP front page today.

Is the extended leather panels on the sides of the center console new for 2020? I see the cognac panels each side of the center console, my 2018's are black even though I have cognac.

That's only in the X4's. Doesn't come this way on the X3's.

I really appreciate your efforts and your guide. I Held off ordering for several months because of your info.

5/17/2019 there was international BMW announcement saying X3/X4 M40i’s would receive M-Sport seats and extended leather “summer 2019”. ..I see it in some other country configurators, but Genius and dealers say “no” for USA. Do you have any info on this???

I don't see them on the US cars either. But with things like these I can only tell the current state, and can't predict if/when they'll be added later.

Canada is not getting the M-sport upgraded seats for start of production in Sept. I wish they did have the upgrade available, my biggest complaint of the current X3 is the front seats. The seats are not very supportive and are uncomfortable on long trips.

I wonder if it can be retrofitted (on an X3) or are they different?

I've never looked into it before. Would be interesting if it could though.

Got this reply back from my dealer this morning:

"I did more research through BMW and they are now saying that the 355hp is correct. Prior to the actual release we were told that the vehicle was supposed to jump to 382hp to mirror the new M340i. I’m not sure what made them deviate from that plan, but it seems you are correct and it is going to remain at 355hp."

I'm not convinced anyone really knows. As ynguldyn has said, we may have to wait until they roll down the assembly and then take a look at the engine code. That said, things are so confusing that I have some fear that there's some kind of part shortage and that there'll be a mid-year change. And those of us with early builds will be mightily pissed off then!

Yeah, I wonder if Supra demand is affecting the situation at all.

Well, I ordered a 2019 and was pushed to 2020 at the same price, so no real impact for me. I was happy before I found out there was a potential increase in hp, and I'm still happy if it isn't there.

I doubt it--the torque is basically the same. You can always flash the 2019 model with a new tune. Will beat the hell out of a standard 2020 model.
its a new engine...which also has higher potential for tuning (ask Supra crowd)

Why do you claim it has a higher tuning potential over the non TU version? The guts are the same, except the new one has weight shaved off in several areas and a single timing chain. I expect they will both have similar tune ceilings.
