ISTA+ cable not connecting
Hey guys, so I got ISTA+ and an enet cable as well as a DCAN cable from bcables. I set the location to enet - Local area network as suggested using the enet cable. When I hit connect on ista I do not get any error code but where it refreshes it does not show my cable. I then went into devices drivers and set the IP as suggest and got the same result.
Am I missing something, or is the cable likely bad? Can I connect using the dcan cable? I'm trying to troubleshoot a "drivetrain malfunction" that seems to be caused by something with the turbo system as per my mechanic. I want to change the map and possibly maf sensor and see if the faults dissapear. Btw I'm using ista 4.30.30.23898 Last edited by WrEkkED; 01-07-2022 at 03:28 PM.. |

So I still can't get it to connect. When I hit complete identification nothing shows up under device ID to connect to.
I have tried using bot IP 255.255.1.1 and using auto for my ethernet. Is there a better cord to make this seamless? I notice my mechanic uses a usb cord to read and clear faults and it takes him 2 seconds. heres my .ini file ;################# ;# EDIABAS 7.3.0 # ;################# ;================================================= ============================ [Configuration] ;================================================= ============================ Interface = ENET Simulation = 0 EcuPath = C:\EDIABAS\ECU SimulationPath = C:\EDIABAS\SIM TracePath = C:\Windows\Temp TraceSize = 1024 ApiTrace = 0 IfhTrace = 0 ; IfhnTrace = 0 ; SystemTraceSys = 0 ; SystemTraceBip = 0 ; SystemTraceIfh = 0 ; SystemTraceNet = 0 ; BipDebugLevel = 0 ; BipErrorLevel = 0 UbattHandling = 0 IgnitionHandling = 0 ClampHandling = 0 RetryComm = 1 SystemResults = 1 TaskPriority = 0 ; CodeMapping = C:\EDIABAS\BIN\ansi2oem.tab ; LoadWin32 = 0 NetworkProtocol = TCP ; --- neu ab EDIABAS 7.2.0 --------------------------------------------------- ShowIcon = 0 LogLevel = 0 TraceBuffering = 1 TraceHistory = 999 TraceSync = 1 ; TraceWriter = <FilePathName> ;================================================= ============================ [TCP] ;================================================= ============================ RemoteHost = LMUC203404 Port = 6801 TimeoutConnect = 2000 TimeoutReceive = 2000 TimeoutFunction = 10000 ; TimeResponsePending = 5000 ; DisconnectOnApiEnd = 1 ; InitCmd0 = FE,04,00,03,01 ; InitCmd1 = FD,05,00,03,01 ;================================================= ============================ [XEthernet] ;================================================= ============================ RemoteHost = Autodetect HeaderFormat = 0 TesterAddress = F4,F5 ControlPort = 6811 DiagnosticPort = 6801 TimeoutConnect = 20000 ;================================================= ============================ [IfhProxy] ;================================================= ============================ Port = 6700 ;================================================= ============================ ; End Of File EDIABAS.ini ;================================================= ============================ |

That looks correct. I select "ediabas default" though I switch between E-series and F-series vehicles (DCAN vs ENET) by changing the values in the ediabas.ini file using the program "ediabas konfigurator2.0.0.exe"
Have you buzzed the cable to make sure it's correct? Is the ethernet on the PC a known working port? |

Not sure if the port works. I've never used it before. Always had a usb one on my other car. Do you set the IP address on yours or leave it on auto?
I tries with default too but it still didnt read the car. I have tried 2 cables now. Maybe I should try putting it on another laptop. Will try tomorrow. Thank you for the help! |

You were right. The ethernet port is broken. I installed Ista on my work computer and no issues. Now to figure out what all these fault codes are related to LOL
Thank you! |

Ista+ / enet cable compatibility
Hi Guys, I have a 2012 F25 X3 and I remember reading somewhere that there were some compatibility issues with either ISTA+ or the ENET cable for the 2011 and 2012 versions of F25s, but I cannot seem to find that post anymore.
All I saved from back then was this image but I no longer remember the context of it. Does anybody know if this makes any sense or if I might have simply gotten confused? Thank you! |
