Folks,
I have the ECS Tuning Wheel Spacer Fitment Kit at home. I have the 19" wheels and probably won't be upgrading anytime soon so I figured I would throw a little cash into a new stance on the 245s/50/19s. Goal: Purely visual. This is my wifes DD. The CB and and bolt pattern is the same as the G30 so I figure I could make this work if I buy G30 spacers from ECS tuning. I tested 15mm and 20 mm in the rear (remember I had a flat a couple days ago so I had to take off the Spare) and saw no issues at all. I might need to have some people sit in the second row just to make sure. Also, since I would need extended lug bolts I figured I could buy racing studs from APEX (M14 x 1.25 x 90mm kit). Then I won't be afraid at all that the lug bolts are the wrong length. I am going to e-mail APEX for any input. Will upgrade with some pics this weekend. Need to go back to the garage. ***PARTIAL UPDATE**** The pictures I took are crap. I need to make more space in the garage (I need to move the other car out, shared garage). I also didn't work on the fronts at all as expected. It got dark and was cold (~20 degrees, no heat) so I aborted mission. I will be working on this again this weekend. Any reason you didn't get the spacer+bolt set from ECS? |

Btw, when you took delivery, did your 718Ms fit nicely in the X3 cargo area or did you have to put the rear seats down to lay them flat? I'm debating whether I should use my X5 before I trade it in to transport my 718Ms, as the 699Ms will be installed at delivery

Yes 699m winter. It's mostly the front that's looking more tucked but both front and back are a bit in. Just going by memory compared to an x5. But I've never had an suv before. The dealer folded the rear seats. I didn't try the wheels vertically side by side. |

I can buy spacers + extended bolts from ECS. They would fit perfectly fine with this set of wheels (stock 19"). The actual Spacer kit comes with long studs for obvious reasons. I then started thinking about what would happen if I ever upgraded the wheels. Let's say that I get a new set of HRE wheels that need like a 5 mm spacer to fit perfectly. I would then have to buy another set of extended lugs. Atleast with the racing studs, I don't have to worry about needing new hardware in the future. The downside that I could think of with the racing studs is that I'm stuck with them poking out if the new wheels in the future don't require a spacer. I hope that kinda makes sense. |

Taking delivery of my X3 M40i next week and plan on adding 18mm/15mm spacers (with the stock 21" wheels)... looking forward to your pics and review.

Gents,
The 8yr old had soccer playoffs this weekend and I literally was out Sunday for a total of 8 hours directly related to soccer. This is still on Hold. However, I will be visiting IND tomorrow to test fit some HRE wheels. |

I am not pursuing the racing studs anymore. I think each set of wheels will have their own extended lugs.
iND is going to send the information over to HRE and will see what happens with the wheels. Still working on the spacers for the stock 19s. |

Also did some comparison of the 20" square winter set with the 21" staggered set and the summer set pokes out by 3mm more when compared to the winter set.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics but no budget for a better camera.
So anything past 15mm looks too much in my opinion. Didn't notice any rubbing on the fronts at full lock. It is close though at 20mm. |
