New iDrive 7 will start in April/Mai

Just had a quick look at the new pricing guide for germany which will be valid from april 2020.
Talked to my dealer and all X3M X4M will be getting the new idrive and full digital display beginning production in may.

Damn mine was produced on tuesday and has order status 155 - so it´s already built. Will be getting it here in Germany beginning of April.

I don’t like the full digital display, it looks less sporty. I actually prefer more old school displays like in the porsche macan.

This is sad news... I hope BMW fixes the crappy digital display and makes a sportier version for M models by the time my x4mc lease is up... wishful thinking.

I think what we have now is just about optimal. Except for Android Auto, that is.

I agree. I really like the current display setup. It’s full digital but keeps the “analog” gauges. The newer displays don’t do it for me. I guess at the end of the day we have the HUD so the time spent looking at the dash should be minimal

I guess it depends on what they make the M display look like.

I was bummed with no ID7, but I think the gauge cluster looks cool and is functional as is.

I don’t like the weird speedo/tach setup they have on the ID7 but I suppose they can make it look like anything they want?

Any other advantages to having the ID7?

The only aspect of the iDrive 7.0 that I would like to have is the remote start option. Other than that, iDrive 6.0 and gauge cluster is good to me.

Is that even offered? If so, I’d be way down as it’s a feature I struggle not having.

Thought I have to admit the car does warm up quick.

From what I've seen, it is available for US market vehicles.

Agreed, it does warm up fairly quickly.

Yeah, that is what I anticipated. I do like the ID7 of ID6. It displays more info, especially when using satelite radio.

I wonder it they will use the digital screen like the M8. In sport mode, it is very cool. The new gauge cluster has its pros and cons.

Would have loved the option of Laser lights. Nice and day difference to me over Adaptive. I tend to drive the X5 at night as those light provide a lot more light, both high and low beam. IMO

I will be curious to see how much base price and options price go up.

I am not sure remote start will be offered. It is not offered for the regular X3 or 5 series with ID 7, if I recall correctly.

They have already made the M display for ID7. Just google BMW M8 digital display as that's what will this vehicle will get. The dual tach bars are kind of odd but it does add coolant temp and boost gauges. I don't mind the current setup but the lack of customization is disappointing.

Yes, you can add it as an option and I believe it's in a package.

Unsure if remote start is an option like in the X5 and X7

I think the M dash on the M8 is very cool. Fighter cockpit style.

In reality, I never even look at the dash, I look at the HUD. Wished they had updated the HUD on the X3M. The one in my 2020 X5 is superior to the X3M.....with the exception of M mode.

Yes I know as my X7 has remote start. However the X3 and 5 series get ID7 "lite."

It's in the middle below the current gear selected. I wish they just did what Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, etc do and make a big round tack in the middle with the digital speedo inside.

I really would like the shortened tachometer in the HUD that the M8 gets. The one we get is way too big and intrusive. I wonder if that's hardware or software?
