Can't answer your question on mats I'm afraid

The M seat belts & M mats are both part of the M Sport+ pack in the Uk
What do you make of the M Seatblet tensioning when you drive off? To say I was 'surprised' the first time is an understatement. Feels a bit odd - but I kinda like it......

Like you BT found the M Seatbelt tensioning a bit odd at first but now I find it oddly reassuring lol

My last three new cars I have asked the Dealer not to do any prep what so ever
However I didn't fancy the whole new car prep thing this time & just let the Dealer prep the car, which in all honestly, had me holding my breath a little

I had a few issues on collection with the cleanliness of the X3 on collection but nothing major and the supplying Dealer sorted me out with over £200 worth of freebies so happy enough for a bit of dirt lol

The main thing is the cars paintwork was fine. No scratches or swirls that I could see, even under the strong LED lights in my garage
After the pre-washing/shampoo the paint was squeeky clean so didn't require a full decontamination IMHO

As usual no 'in progress' photos
Didn't get to my usual photo shoot location as I didn't have time, so that will have to wait

Detail as done -

Strong pre-wash with ValetPro Citrus Pre-Wash
Snow foamed with CarChem's SF
2 bucket wash with MF Madness Incredimitt & a strong mix of G3 Detox shampoo
Lower 1/2 of bodywork decontaminated with CP Iron-X (which turned out to be unnecessary)
Bodywork prep'ed with Bilt Hamber Cleanser Fluid
2 x coats of Gyeon Q2 Cure applied with short MF & buffed off with a plush MF
Door & boot shuts treated with Gyeon Q2 Cure
2 x coats of Planet Polish Wheel Seal & Shine applied to the wheels
Tyres dressed with Meguairs Endurance Tyre Gel
Exhaust tips cleaned and sealed with Britemax Final Shine sealent
Under bonnet cleaned with APC
Interior surfaces cleaned with Sonax Xtreme Interior Cleaner
Interior glass cleaned with CP Eraser
Exterior glass cleaned with Rain-X Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellent (Got some Dodo Juice Supernatural Glass Sealant left so will apply that when it gets a bit warmer)

(Leather interior to be cleaned / sealed with Colourlock Cleaner & Leather Shield later on this week - pic's to follow)

A few pic's -

I'm really pleased with how it looks, having not used Cure for some time. The pic's don't do the finish justice TBH

Thanks for looking

I think its a bit penny pinching on BMW's behalf not to fit rear door sill protectors to the G01 X3's

To the best of my knowledge BMW do not do OEM aftermarket one's so I had to go on the hunt for them

After a little searching I found a set on AliExpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3296...6a324c4dcXSySK

For £15 delivered I thought I may as well give them a go

10 days after ordering they arrived, which was surprisingly quick

Quality, shape & match to the fronts were way better than expected TBH

Before -

After -

The car looks more uniform now IMHO. Must be a car OCD thing lol

Would I recommend them? Yes

Other than the M colors being off, they look pretty good.

Agreed. Its not a lot mind & you would never know as you never see the front & rears in the same eye line

Still even if BMW don't fit them as standard they are missing a money making opportunity in the aftermarket OEM parts IMO

I'm told the F25 X3's had the rears as standard fit ...

Just a recommendation, put some thread lock glue on the small blue screw. It has a tendency to unscrew itself in my pocket.

Great write up on your car. My X3 is now 6 weeks old and i am loving it. came with the M Sport Plus package and adaptive suspension as well.

A couple of questions:

Does your 20d have the Sport+ driving mode? I have Sport and Sport Individual but no Sport+

I have had an F car before and when in Sport mode the steering goes noticeable stiffer but I can't tell between Comfort and Sport much difference in the G01. Is this normal?

Thanks

Thanks

I'm assuming you have a 20d X3 also? If so, no we don't have the Sport+ on our models

As your X3 is the same as mine with the Sport Plus pack, the difference between the 2 settings on the steering may be down to the fact we have 'variable sport steering'

The brochure blurb -
'The Variable Sport steering with Servotronic creates a direct and agile steering response and ensures less physical effort is required to turn the wheel. It reacts to the angle of the steering wheel with varying degrees of steering ratio. This reduces the steering movement required when steering at particularly large angles. It features speed-dependent power steering. This provides less assistance at higher speeds to encourage an immediate and precise steering response, and increases the assistance at lower speeds for greater comfort, for example when parking or manoeuvring. Only as part of M Sport Plus package. Standard for M40i and M40d.'
