Help with Part Number.
Hi, Can someone please help me find the part number for the Badge/Logo used in the X3M/X4M Seats. I have the M Seats in an M40d and the Badge/Logo is really cheap looking as the pictures show.

Man, that looks more like it's a protection cover over the actual M badge.
What if you carefully try to see if it will pop loose?

Fyi the M badges from the X3m/4m's are illuminated if that matters to you

Chopper45 I'm not 100% sure, but the part number could be 52108745038?

There is only one M emblem in the current parts catalog.

https://www.leebmann24.de/emblem-bel...108745038.html This link (from the same website) says the part is compatible with the X3M and X4M, which is known to have the illuminated badge the OP is looking for. Again however, I'm not sure how accurate the compatibility information is.

Exactly- the OP has the new M Seats (as opposed to the sports seats) which are the same shape and overall form of the seats found in the X3M, and he is wanting to retrofit the illuminated badge from the X3M into his M40d.
I'm not sure if the M seats in the M40i/M40d have a wiring harness to power the illumination though. Even if they don't, it would still look better than the cheap black plastic badge.

Unfortunately, here it looks like the emblems are black.

The other one is the illuminated one, and you even can see some cables coming from the headrest, which is something we will not have. |

Watching some videos of the M3/M4 emblem removal, and the diagram of the part numbers we have here, I would say that system is the same, so you can remove it just by pulling it with your nails...maybe with a plastic tool if nails are not strong enough.
Seems like a good option even if they are not illuminated. |

By the way...I think that if you modify the Title of the thread, it will attract the attention of many more people, and maybe there is someone who has already done it...

For me, just the change from cheap black plastic to something shiny, colored and with a silver border is already worth it. If it lights up or not ... it's not that bad

Well, I finally bought them...and received now.
"Legs" are similar to "old" M3/M4, so it should be very easy to remove black ones and put these (let's see when I have the car). The thing that is different is that instead of a cable with a connector, the connector itself is integrated in the emblem, so it depends on if we have our headrest prepared for this to illuminate or not. Here you have some pics in case you are interested: |

This is my first post, so I apologize in advance if I have got this wrong. ( I cannot find any info on how to use this site ) I'm also wanting to change the ugly black plastic headrest badge for the M colour one, however I cannot work out how to remove the original badge. I can see that "comber" from Spain has already done this, unfortunately he has not shown us how he changed the badge, do you need a special BMW tool to do this ? Thank you in advance |
