I have the UniCarscan, and works fine, but going to move to OBD Ethernet adapter and lightning to Ethernet dongle as way way faster than doing over Bluetooth/wireless

Can someone summarize the best setup? Do you need UniCarScan plus the Ethernet to lightning adapter?
Is it this? 1) BimmerCode 2) UniCarScan 3) Lightning to Ethernet adapter 4) Ethernet or lightning cord ??? |

Wireless-Unicarscan or OBDLink MX are two recommended wireless. You are now ready to code. Wired-you would need an enet cable, which is obd2 on one end, and Ethernet on the other. Then you need an adapter from Ethernet to your mobile device. If you have a modern iPhone, then you would need a lightening to Ethernet adapter. All of the above are available on Amazon. Hope this helps. |

I’m coding three cars in multiple states, the wireless was easier to carry in my bag. Last edited by j080808; 01-26-2020 at 09:55 PM.. |

What is the secret to get enet cable to work? Not getting an IP address. Tried setting it to 169.254.1.1/16 and a no go as well. Any input is appreciated. I did test the lightning Ethernet adapter on a live network (not car) and I can connect.
