E83 muffler rattle help

Hi everyone, I have a 2005 x3 e83. I noticed the arm on my muffler that opens and closes this baffle has a bit of play in it where the arrow are pointing. This makes an annoying rattle noise. Seems like my only options are to replace the entire muffler for about $900 or unplug the gizmo that opens and closes the baffle in the trunk and pretend like I have some custom exhaust going on back there. Any other hacks out there I could consider? thanks

I disconnected (and plugged) the vacuum line on my wife's X3 and that stopped the rattling.
