VTG Oil Wear

Hi guys, I've got a 2010 BMW X3 with a fault code 54CG - VTG Oil Wear.
I just replaced the transfer case fluid. What I'm now wondering is whether or not this needs to be calibrated/reprogrammed following a fluid change?

I have access to a Autel Maxicom MK808 scanner, and also a SNAP-ON Solus scanner. I'm still relatively "green" when it comes to using both of these scanners. I have no problem pulling up codes, but am unsure of the rest of the functions. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi, you need to reset the transfer case oil to new (zero) after exchange. This should work with your scanner under transfer case or vtg and then something like oil change or oil reset…. If your scanners cannot do this you need to find different hw/sw which can do, or you need to go to a garage with the right equipment. Dont leave the old oil status, you really should reset to avoid other issues…. Regards Ralph
