Faulty steering angle sensor - stutter and slight kick when braking at low speed

Hi,

Currently e83 X3 has a faulty steering angle sensor - DCT, 4x4, airbag lights on, turning steering wheel lock to lock helped clearing error for month, now it's on all the time - will be replacing.

While car experiences this issue I am noticing often stuttering when accelerating to half accelerator pedal and more heavy kicks when braking and reaching low 2-10kmh speeds.

2.0d n47, automatic.

Is it due while car is in this fault mode being 4x4 all the time, or is that some transfer case or gearbox issues?
