Passenger side xenon dipped beam issue

The dipped beam in my passenger side headlight flashes once when switched on, then remains off. I believe the fault is triggering the defective lamp warning on the dashboard.

By way of swapping the headlight assembly and individual components, I've found the bulbs, igniters, ballasts, adaptive headlight control modules and wiring outside the headlights are fine. It has to be an issue with wiring inside the headlight- the insulation is known to flake off, but I haven't been able to spot this.

Does anyone know a likely point of failure? Thanks in advance.
