water pump issues please help
I am new to this group!!! i bought a x3 3.0si 2007. it started leaking and decided to buy the hoses and then I was getting ready to bleed the system, I notice the pump is not engaging, I've seen lots of videos where they turn the heat on all the way up, low blower, and press the gas pedal for 10 seconds. I did that and nothing with mine however i drove the car and the temp gauge never went to the red position. so I decided to buy a new water pump with thermostat and it still not working now I'm looking to see if there is a fuse or another way to test the electric water pump.
i do not know what immissing i dont know what else to do. engine dosnt heat up it seems that the thermostat is opening fan is working, any help would gladly be appreciated. another thing i noticed the upper radiator house seems to build up some preassure please help me. |

I'm in the middle of a cooling system refresh myself. This video shows the proper methods for testing and bleeding a system.
You may have to repeat the bleed instructions a couple of times after driving the car and allowing it to cool back down. To the OP, verify whether the water pump is running by starting the car on a cold engine as shown in the video.

Again there is not much interaction on these forums here. Very disappointing as I am sure many forum members have had similar if not the exact same issue as the OP and myself are experiencing. I understand that nobody is obligated to assist with our problems especially on these older models and don't get me wrong I fully appreciate everything I learn here and every member who offers there insight and knowledge. I hope to one day be able to respond to new users who need help but at this point I'm not knowledgeable in regards to most matters to be giving advice. Maybe everyone is too concerned about Covid 19 and inflation to worry about other peoples car problems. Anyways thank you for having this forum and to those who help us newbies we very much appreciate and respect you all.
