Unhappy water pump issues please help

I am new to this group!!! i bought a x3 3.0si 2007. it started leaking I decided to buy the hoses and then I was getting ready to bleed the system, I notice the pump is not engaging, I've seen lots of videos where they turn the heat on all the way up, low blower, and press the gas pedal for 10 seconds. I did that and nothing with mine. now I'm wondering if there is a fuse or not...
I drove it with the new hoses in place and I notice the upper hose got really hot and it expands a lot then it started leaking again. I decided to just not drive anymore. now I'm looking to see if there is a fuse or another way to test the electric water pump.
before changing the hoses i was using the car i notice a little bit of coolant was leaking but the temp gauge never went to red.
im very concern any help will be gladly appreciated
thank you in advance

regards
