Body change timeframe on the x3

So did some googling and i thought bmw body changes usually happen around 7 years so decided to get the 2019 x3 thinking it will las another 6 years without much change so ended up buying and not leasing. But saw previous generation and saw the one before only lasted i think 3 years and before that was was 4 . Does this mean another body change will occur in few years ?

I already paid in full so i can always trade in later but didnt realize they change up more wuicker then i thought

The E83 X3 was built from 2003 to 2010 - 7 years.
F25 X3 was 2011-2017 - 6 years.

They do small updates in the middle, but they aren't what I'd call a body change. Not sure where 3/4 years came from.

Minor tweaks every three to four years but I think the current offering will be here for another four years or so, that is what I have found with different models over the past 25 years

Summer 2021 is when the LCI / mid cycle refresh comes out
Summer 2024 is when the *next* one will come out.

I saw the changed and it seemed more then minor changes (in my eyes) so I had thought it was only 3 to 4 years

"Newer" doesn't necessarily mean "better". I got a 2019 just before the idrive 7 update. At the time it irked me, but now seeing how many issues people have had i'm actually quite happy.

Plus, it means come needing an LCI car in 2022, it will seem "new" to me, albeit lessy buggy.

BMW has a standard seven year body/chassis cycle, with the original being sold in years one through four, and a facelift or LCI being sold in years five through seven. As noted above, there have been a few instances where the cycle has been only six years.

The current gen G01 X3 was released as a MY18. We expect the facelift/LCI as a MY22 (probably released sometime in CY21). Its replacement should come as a MY25 (probably released sometime in CY24).

When the LCI comes they might slightly change areas such as the front & rear bumper detail (ie the plastic), paint colour options..that sort of thing. The metal is very unlikely to change.

As for the exterior of the vehicle, it cost way to much to change sheet metal parts. Front and rear fascia covers along with the lighting. That's it.
