03/19/2020- Currently waiting for passenger parts to come in.
Current issues: Seat belt light turns on after adding in bottom heated seat element. Possible solutions: - code out seat belt alert - Reset weight for the passenger seat. |

Passenger seat completely heated!
Wiring from rear fuse locations 186-189 one per each seat module. Then wiring from seat to yellow PIN number 9(fuse together). A little extensive but not too bad overall. Last edited by SM2; 01-08-2021 at 09:07 AM.. |

Impressive work! I own a 2014 X3 and I am also considering to add heated seat to my car! Thanks for your sharing! However, I managed to find a pair of seats with heating function on ebay, so I plan to swap two front seats instead of removing the leather of my seat. In this case, I definitely need a new climate control panel, but do I need to do the wiring or I can just plug the cable under the seat to my swapped new seats? XD

Hi it's me again.....
I bought two seats with seat heating and lumbar support (my original seat does not)from ebay and installed them on my vehicle. The adjustment of seat height and seat back worked but the lumbar support and heating controlled failed. Does this mean I should also do the coding? Or should I add a fuse to somewhere else other than the bottom of the seat? Thanks for your help! PS: I just installed and tested for the passenger side. Any difference for the driver side? |

Pretty sure you need to VO code options you add to you vehicle for them to work. I can't speak to the wiring. Here's the codes:

Reach out to Steve Ma at Cody my BMW. Driver side as long as it has the proper seat module and coding will work. The passenger side will need to be wired in though. One wire going from the rear Fuse carrier to the seat and a wire going from the passenger seat to the front junction box to the seat. But, passenger seat does need a module and harness which I found used on ebay. Last edited by SM2; 01-08-2021 at 09:17 AM.. |

What is the total cost including and excluding seats? I'm assuming you used the seats that came with the car.
Nevermind, I saw your older post with the cost of parts. I too found a brilliant X4 I want to buy but its missing the cold weather package. I feel it is a must for roughly 8 months out of the year here in Washington state but probably not nearly as much as you need them in Chicago. Might have to pass on this one because I'd really like the heated steering wheel as well.

Update: Currently dealing with a problem with the passenger seat, not heating. Running into a LIN Slave issue. I Will attempt to recode the JBE.

Nice work - I’ve today just managed to install a heated steering wheel into our X4. Relatively straightforward with the right parts (some work on RealOEM needed to get the correct part numbers).
Keep up the good work, you’ll get there with it 👍🏻 |
