LHS exhaust not working when cold?

I noticed today that from a cold start, only the right side exhaust has any steam coming out, and that the left side has nothing. Is that normal?

I'm assuming that's the valve for sport vs comfort.

It's designed that way to get cat up to temperature quickly.
