Electric cars: had two, love em, love that there’s more choice in the market now. Statistical studies show that despite less parts they still break down, and when they do they cost more than ICE and hybrids. Thats part of why I don't currently own one. Basically you left BMW because of your bounteous and productive loins (so did I when our second child came along). X5 just couldn't cut it. Got a minivan too, sold it to get something that drove better. … so are you saying BMW lost its way because they didn’t make a minivan? Oddly enough I would buy one if they did. 🤣

This thread delivers. Here’s what I’ve learned…
BMW’s lost its way because you needed a minivan. Electric vehicles are far superior to ICE vehicles. But for some reason, you bought a minivan with an ICE engine? |

If BMW doesn’t currently make the correct vehicle for you, then buy the correct vehicle from the company that does.

I wish BMW kept the 3 row X5 and also took a look at Kia’s implementation of how a second row should move to gain access to the third row… slow electric motors in the X5/7 render it absolutely useless as a family hauler if you need that 3rd row.

Short answer: kind of. I was talking to a friend who is some kind of engineer at Spartanburg. He said the 3 row X5 was never a huge seller and the X7 is very much a US market item. It helps consolidate production options on the X5 and also promote X7 sales this way now.

It is a good option. But there are still plenty of SUVs that work and would be more fun to drive… maybe just not as space efficient.

I guess OP didn't get the recent memo that Tesla has abandoned even their Supercharging network and given up leases!
