Awesome thanks for the info. Yes I am super interested in changing up the display options and just seeing what else is available.

I did buy the full version for $31.99 in app purchase. And I was able to code the rear tailgate to open and close with the remote and the interior button as well.

I am using the OBDlink MX+ and to change all of the Liftgate coding settings. It took less than 1 minute. I will time it next time for comparison, but for those saying that the Ethernet adapter is a lot quicker maybe so. But I waited maybe 30 seconds total for the coding to complete and no wires then its a win for me.
Id understand the need for the Ethernet if bluetooth took several minutes and Ethernet was under a minute.

For anyone interested, these is all you have to do, to be able to connect 2 phones at the same time. Tested with one Android and one IPhone with Carplay enabled.

Anyone knows anyway to prevent car locked when key left in the boot ? My wife got a habit of opening the boot with emblem / foot (while car is locked), puts her bag in the boot (with key inside), chucks the shopping in and then closes the boot and forgets to take the bag. Car then locks itself automatically.

Happened a few times already. Luckily we have the app to unlock it remotely on phone.

Hmmm I don't think you can code a new wife with Bimmercode.

Everything has changed!
I brought my X3 M40i in for an oil change. All my Bimmercode changes are gone. I have a Bimmercode license and an OBD Link MX+.
I was able to set ASS to remember last setting. Tested and works OK.
I see that the Headunit, ASD, Roof Function CTR and Tailgate Function no longer have the green circle next to them showing I can make changes.
When I select the Headunit ECU the screen on my ipad shows No Data.
I shut everything down, re-paired, and read the ECUs, vin....all booted and started but those four ECUs are not available to me to change.
This is so frustrating.
Paperwork from dealer say B663319 Recall : Program Control Units (rearview camera): B66 33 19

On the paper work, it have a line said: 00BMZ66350100 Program control Unit.

I won't have time to try do it again until later into the weekend.

What I notice is, my software version was:
Telephone: TB-006.025.001
Media: MB-006.025.001

After today service, it is now:
Telephone: TB-006.074.002
Media: MB-006.074.002

So the software been updated

Fixed Erased coding.
Like I mentioned above, all coding including driver profiles were erased.
The solution was to update my Bimmercode App to the latest build. Seems like the software update by BMW requires some changes to access the Headunit.
All fixed. That was a tense few hours.
I should have updated my backup ipad with the latest software, the one with the license. My fault 100%. Bimmercode works perfectly.

A genuine question and pretty sure some of us already in that situation, not about old wife new wife. So that we can share some tricks.

Dont know why there are trolling and mocking like this. People got too much time on their hand.

I usually don't use my integrated idrive navigation however i leave my default screen in navigation 250mi away distance for the nice live wallpaper.

-Activate truly manual adjusting of brightness setting of Control screen.
(U can manually set up low or higher brightness (no matter of interior light sensor value in Option>Display settings>Control display>Brightness)

In Expert mode: NBT selection

search:

DIM_VARIANT

Set it to "Old".

Code it
Enjoy it
in sportmode your gauge cluster is red in that pic, but mine turns Silver, is this coding or a change between model years?

Anyone attempted to reduce the volume of the turn signal indicators in the KOMBI ECU via Bimmercode expert mode? Kombi --> 300B KI_Parameter --> BLINKER_VOLUME_CONTI

Of course I know it's a joke and I dont have problem at all.

Problem is an opened forum with multiple culture backgrounds and sometimes it would be misleading... It happened.

And in this case my wife is browsing the forum.

You know women....

Now I hope that would not offend other female browsers here.

My dealer has called twice to get me in for the recall. I don't want to loose all my coding changes. Is there a way to reload all changes done from Bimmercode through MX+? Or do I just go through them again one by one?

I decided to redo all coding. Not sure that using a backup to altered code in the headunit ecu is OK. Rather than take a chance, I made a new list of what I wanted to code and took the few extra minutes and recoded. Now I have a list for next time.

So when you read your ECUs with BimmerCode is makes a backup. So read the ones you made changes in previously (there are also backups made when you make changes so you don't have to create new ones if you don't want to).

Get the car in for service.

Then go back and apply the backups for each ECU from the backup file you made before you went to the dealer. You won't have to do all the individual changes again if you apply the backup. :-)

I don't think that's a good idea. You are basically suggesting the following:

1) Make a backup when the software (iStep) is X.
2) Dealer updates the software (iStep) to Y.
3) Bring the car home and apply your backup created under ECUs running software X to ECUs running software Y.

How do you know it will not cause a problem? I suggest you re-code everything from scratch. It does not take so long to be worth the risk of creating a problem by loading old backup to an ECU running updated software.
