Agreed, but that seems to be relatively "normal" for M cars these days. Even with 295s on the back of my F80, I feel like it could use wider rubber.

The M2/M2C are even more under-tired....

Hmmm...I'm thinking the non-comp seats are underwhelming. In-fact would make me think twice about the whole thing.
From what I have seen so far, seats will be available on the base unit as an option. As others have mentioned, the additional $7,000 USD from base to competition includes seats, wheels and other goodies.
Figure the wheels are a $1,000 upgrade, increased HP would be equivalent to a Dinan Stage 1 tune ($3,000 including labor, this is comparable due to the warranty that other vendors don't include), seat upgrades $1,000, and M suspension tune (comp tune) $1,000. Estimated 'upgrade' pricing is based on BMW series option pricing. Figure $6,000 in 'upgrades', which is on par with the F80/82 competition package with the M///tax profit.

That's why you lease, one at model intro and next at LCI.

The wide tires like the x5m and x6m made it so cool.. they had 325 atleast i was hoping for 285 or 295 on the X4M..

would it be able to fit 295? also do we think we can get a full leather dash?
Yeah my M3 19" wheels are 275. Really sad they are 265 on a larger vehicle with bigger wheels. Doesn't make much sense. Has to be spacing issue with car design.

Can any engine experts tell if BMW fixed the crank hub design on the S58? Its the biggest weak link on the S55...

280 lbs lighter, V8 with 550hp and 502 torque
Price probably right with Comp version of X3M

It's like BMW has decided never to exceed 265 mm width ...

Oh you want bigger ? Well how about larger diameter 21s.. same width ..

I think I'm in then for the CP....now for the US prices...$70k for base M start and $77k for CP? Optioned up are we looking at $87k CP optioned up??? Thats a bargain if so...Macan Turbo breaches $98k with their Performance Packaging...plus rates on BMW are far less than competitors...

Oh and they could've done away with the whole "Competition" badging part. Just make it an "MC", you don't need to spell out "Competition" on everything.
Leak hazard .....

Neither of my 1991 M3 with standard sunroof ever leaked, ever and I owned one car for 13 years.

The two E46 325 (2001, 2004 ) convertibles I have owned (oops also a 2003 E46M3 ) have never leaked and i sold the former away at 237k miles in 2015 and it spent the last 7 years of life outside in TEXAS.

I've never had a drip in my 2013 X1 with double panoramic roof either .. nor do I ever expect it to happen. Even if one simply hates moonroofs , a leak issue is not likely and is absolutely the least of your concerns.

How sloppy you are with your skis however ...

PS.. you might want to get a THULE rack...

Well i figure some of those pics are pretty revealing showing the front of the crank so those with experience with this might know. Just curious.

I haven't seen a perfect motor from BMW yet.

In my experience there has been some design flaw on so many motors .. it will simply be what's next.

E30 M3 - shim oil pump , oil pan baffle needed
e36 M3 - safety wire oil pump
E46 M3 - bearings, oil pump , BMW extended warranty while in production ..
E90 M3 - replace bearings as PM? Etc
F80 M.. - crank Issue you mentioned
G80 M... ???

So... more than likely S58 will develop some sort of character flaw in the next 3-5 years ..

Don't sweat the technique ..

depends how you look at it, starts at just over $70,000 so a few thousand more than M3, but has AWD (which is normally $2K) and looks to have a few more "standard" things as well.

M3 with AWD (if it was an option) and DCT would start higher right now.
