Scout10, I have several friends living in the Traverse City area that love it. My main reservation is the amount of snow Traverse City receives over the winter.

Annapolis enjoys many of the amenities of Traverse City with little snow during the winter. Our condo in Annapolis adds points of interest including walking distance to the Maryland State Capitol, the US Naval Academy, the City Dock and more than 50 restaurants. It is less than an hour drive to DC and to Baltimore. Like Traverse City there are local craft beer venues and vineyards to enjoy. There are also 7 BMW dealers within 50 miles that make it a much more of a buyer's market than Michigan. My two BMWs are registered in Michigan but purchased in Maryland.
